If you could have a second bike what would it be?
01/17/13 3:45 AM

Guy's I always dream about having a second lady in my garage......If I could I thought it would be great to have a BMW HP4 or an 1198...But that’s not real far from my rocket ship. (Yes but not really) So now I'm thinking a Street Ducati fighter or MV 1090 Brutally naked bike. What would do you guys think and what might you want??

If I could afford it, Aprilia RSV4 Tuono. No question.

Tough question for me.......

Ten years or so ago, I would have said Aprilia-something, but not now, can't ride the real crotch rockets anymore.

Probably a pristine Kawasaki H2 Mach IV in 100% stock condition, original everything, and like the day it came off the showroom floor.

Now that would be a nostalgia trip for sure. And worth more than 5 of what I currently own. I'd put it in my living room.

I don't have the money that I even want to dream about it much but I hear the new ZX-6 is a great bike for street and track.

A little more realistically speaking, I guess I would get some old, already modded 600 and either keep it for road riding or put race fairings on it for track riding.

I've been in that mode for some time now. I've gone from a Gen 4 Zx10-R to a 2012 CBR1000RR, (or Repsol) and now lately I'm seriously looking at the new for 13 Triumph Street Triple or believe it or not the Triumph Thruxton for something totally different. A naked of some kind is very appealing to me lately.

It would have to be a MV Agusta F4 but more realistically a well modified S1000RR or an Aprilia Tuono

I think I would go with a Can Am Spyder touring edition, so my other half would finally be able to feel the enjoyment that I get from riding a bike. She would never ride on 2 wheels, and that is the closest that I can get for her.

+1 on the CanAm, they are quite nice. I got to ride one at a COG event, it is like being on .... wow, its not like anything else ... hard to describe.

Smooth.... steady.... wonderful at stoplights not to have to put feet down.... you feel "safe" (you aren't but its still a nice feeling).. you get the motorcycling sensation without vibration, and with excellant wind protection. Stay warm on cold days, cool on hot days.

Maybe that would be a better choice than my choice of a vintage pristine H2.

I would have a 2004 Blue Mean Streak. Had one once but it was too slow to be my only bike. Would make a great second bike though. Heck, I may just buy one !!!

I just picked up a bike I've always wanted, a 1983 Suzuki GS750E in maroon. Traded a worn out XL600 for it. So I'm doing the clean, paint, polish, make work thing now. This fall, I'll be looking for a KTM 450 EXC. Time to get back on the dirt.

Romans, I test-rode a Ducati Diavel last summer, and it handled like a log wagon. The huge back tire was always trying to overcome steering inputs and at parking-lot speeds, you have to row the bars like a tiller to get it to turn. Ride one and your fantasy may be shattered. It's 50 lbs. lighter than a ZX-14, but it felt 50 lbs. heavier to me.

Nice bike...we need some pics!

In the late 80's I had an '82 KZ750, and my neighbor had a maroon '83 GS1100E...and I've wanted on ever since. In '91, I bought a blue/white '83 GS550E and rode it a few years...fun little bike.

Danno, cut me deep. May have also saved me some serious doe. Always trading back and forth with my brother on his M-109 and was thinking on the days they all go out maybe take the Diavel. Mostly because I need the power in the street fighter look. Not much into the gas brake left right thing alone. Need it to satisfy both needs.

That big back tire looks good but ???? leads to see pic

I want a blue and white (preferable) 1985 GS1150E. One of these days one's going to pop up when I've got a couple of bucks in my pocket. I know I've already got four bikes but one can never have enough. Oh yeah, a dual purpose bike would be cool too.

Darn. Too late. I already looked. Problem is that I've already contacted a gentleman with the screen name Suzuki Ray (forgive me if this isn't exactly correct) and got a price from him for building me a nice 1497cc street GS motor. 200 horsepower give or take in a 1985 GS1150 frame would just be awesome in my opinion. I'm going to do this at the very latest in a couple of years. I'm coming into a fairly large sum on money at that time and it's all going to be for play toys. Yeah, I'm spending my childrens' inheritance but I'm still leaving all the property to them. Just not much cash.

Nah Romans, I've lost the desire for any new toys. Got a great collection now and nothing's really blowin my skirt up anymore.

It could just be the winter time blues speaking though, we've had a really cold winter (for Texas) so that's put the damper on me. Today was nice though and this weekend is looking to be almost springlike so maybe I'll go into recover mode.
