Tires

Just replacing original factory tires. Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S20r's. Got almost 7,000 miles on them . I drive like an old guy, cuz I guess I am . Putting Dunlop Roadsmart 3's on . We'll see how many miles these give .

I would assume even higher mile. My S20 Evos lasted about 3500 miles. RS3s are a little more towards the touring side than sport side, where S20s are more torwards the sport side. I'll guess 9-10k miles given the exact same riding conditions.

I put on the new BT-30 Evo (rear) still running the OEM front, so far so good. Only have a 1,000 miles on, but still have those nipples. Will give a 5,000 mile review

8100 Miles on my Pirelli Angel GT "A" spec tires and they are shot.
The front tire wore out on the sides first, leaving a triangular profile. Tread is completely gone. I didn't expect the last couple of hundred miles to eat up that much of the tire. They still had tread at the last gas stop on my way home.
The rear looks to be in slightly better shape. At least I can still see the tread pattern.

The tires stick well, even when worn out. Most of my riding is in the mountains, so I am pretty hard on tires.

I have a new set of Angel GT's in the garage, but not the "A" spec. Thought I would try a set with a little more give in the sidewalls.

I've had three sets of Diablo Supercorsas. As a guy who used to get 10k, 8k, 6k miles out of a tire, even a track/street tire, I have finally arrived! The Supercorsa rear lasted me about 3500 miles. First time I have ever worn the tire more to the outside than in the center. V wear on the front and back. I was below the sipes out to the sides so I knew the center was thin and then I laid a 50 foot darkie in an emergency stop (road construction). That was all she wrote. I'm at the carcass in that spot. Oh well, love those Pirellis. I'd get more but I have tuning to do and they'd just get worn right off. Going cheap now. BT-16s are good. Not Pirelli good but pretty good.

Got exactly 300 street miles and 30 track miles out of my OEM Bridgestone S20s before I ripped them off and gave them to a friend with an R6.

While I generally run Supercorsa SP tires, I opted for the Supercorsa SC2s this time around. Not exactly the best for the street, but I'll take the lowered longevity for the maximized grip!

I typically get around 3k out of PR4's or Angel GT's

Now on my second Avon Storm 3D X-M rear, getting better than 5k out of them. They are a triple compound tire, with the center section being a hard compound. That center section is what always wears out first, so it just makes sense to manufacture it that way. I run a Angel GT front, not really a fan of the Avon front. My current F/R combo are pretty much shot at the same time, so even better.

Love the way it works for me, no downside whatsoever.

YMMV

I think I might give that combo a try, NeedForSpeed. Both bikes need tires.

Burned several sets of Pirelli Angel GTs, although never tired an A-spec. 7-8K miles and the rear is always shot while the front could go another thousand or so. Running some BT 016s I caught on sale, but not really impressed. 5K miles and they're be toast. Next pair, I think I'll try a softer sporty-type tire on the front to go with the ST tire on the rear to see if I can get them to time out at the same mileage.

Bumping an old thread here. Thinking about some new tires. I went from Dunlop Q'3s to Avon Storm 3DXM's because I wanted to see if I could get a tire to last an entire season. It did and then some. I don't think I ride the bike hard. I'm an average rider at best in the twisties so I'm sure I wasn't using the full capability of the Q3's. Anyway, I had no issues with the storms for my riding style. I'm thinking about the next gen which is the Spirit ST's Any thoughts? I'd like to stay with an extended mileage tire but may try something else if you guys really are in love with a particular tire. The XM's did feel "hard" in corners for sure but they worked for me.

I can't remember how many miles I got out of the Avon's. I can say it was a lot more than any other tire I've ever owned. No complaints except they feel "hard". They didn't feel as sure in hard turns. I think it was maybe my perception or just in my head because they seemed to stick just fine for me and a buddy who has a 14 and who rides much harder than I do. I am interested in trying the Avon rear and something softer on the front? The successor to the Storm is out. Spirit St. I may try it. I have been doing a lot more hwy riding than previous years and this season the wife finally wants to join in so I will be two up some of the time. Has anyone tried this combo yet? Pros n Cons?

"I didn't expect the last couple of hundred miles to eat up that much of the tire. They still had tread at the last gas stop on my way home:...you notice that too eh?Weird.Tires seem to burn up really fast on the last thousand or so miles.

Sportmaxes are good tires.I've NEVER gotten anywhere near 8100 miles on any tires I've had.And I ride 70 mph most everywhere.

I've been using Dunlop Q3+ for a while. Fabulous tires on this bike. Very neutral, light turn in, and good road feel.
Mileage is decent, depending on how you ride.

I just put Michelin Road 5 tires on my 2013 ZX14r. I rode easy the first 50 miles to break in the tires, but then I picked up the pace and form the first corner I leaned into I could tell these tires were just great. I don't ride in the rain unless I get caught but we have a lot of wet roads in CT from run-off and wetlands so the wet capabilities will be appreciated. I don't buy into putting track day tires on a street bike, my riding is plenty aggressive but not track crazy on the street. I look forward to this year's riding on these tires. Do I recommend these tires? Yes I do but at this point I need to put a lot more miles on them.

I have just over 10K on my Road pilot 5 tires. Will put on new set before I hit 11K.
