Howdy

Just wanted to say hi to the community here and introduce myself, I live in Kamloops BC Canada.
I just traded my utility trailer to a fellow for my new to me 2007 Ninja 1400, it had 3100 km's and I have put another 3000k on the bike in 3 weeks, mostly after work. I have a 2007 VFR 800 which was a good bike but what I really wanted to do was trade both bikes in for a Connie. Humm after riding this 14 I'm thinking piss on it and maybe trade both bikes for a new 2012 or 13.
What an awesome smooth bike I really love it!

Thanks Kofla! and next week starting Wednersday morning I and a friend are heading south to Washington and maybe Oregon, hopefully stick to the 101 which I hear is an awesome ride following the coast line, hopefully the fires won't hamper the trip. Is this highway heavily patrolled? Some areas more so than others?

Hi Canadiankawasaki ! Welcome to the site. Nice to see another Canucklehead around here. I live in the Lower Mainland. I bought my 08 from a guy in Kamloops with just about the exact same km's on it (3,200km). Perhaps we will cross paths. I am thinking of making a run up into the interior this weekend with a buddy. My ZX-14 is Midnight Sapphire Blue, my buddy's bike is a White Honda 800 VFR (coffee is on us if we meet up).

I traded my 2008 ZX14 on a 2012 Concours 14, and I love it. All depends on what kind of riding you want to do.

Welcome to the club! I had to let the 14 go in order to keep the wife happy after getting another sports car. I then decided to sell my cruiser and pick up either a 14 or coni, but couldn't decide which one. After a great weekend of riding the cruiser, I was more confused than ever. I happend to come across something that could satisfy my speed fix that I was missing with the 14, and still allow me to be more comfortable and carry things like the coni. I picked up a zzr1200 that was equiped just the way I wanted it. I will be heading up to Boone, N.C. to ride some mountain roads and see how it handles. I have tried some twisties around here, and I am impressed.

Yep, plenty fast enough for me these days. I really like what corbin did for the bags on these things. They fit better than most bags that come with them from the factory. I especially like the way they fit around the tail lights in the rear.

Spyglass, let me know which route your taking into the interior, I might be able to meet up with you guys. I have a few projects on the go before I can run state side so those are priority for now. Pissing rain right now though! Awesome roads around here.
Blacklightning that's a fine looking bike! Really like the bags on that zzz, stands out for sure.

Here's a question for ya, my 2007 Ninja came with a 190/50zr/17 on the rear rim yet the book calls for a 55zr and I talked to the PO and it's the oem tire from day one, would the shop have put the wrong tire on that thing or did they fu before crating that thing?

My bike came with 190/50R17 on it & my manual support this.

The timing of your question could not be better. I discovered during my pre inspection last night that I have a cord starting to show in the center of my rear Dunlop Q2 tire. I was shocked because the tire looks great otherwise and I though it just might see me through this season. I phoned around all morning and could not find any suitable tire in stock in BC. I am just heading out to my garage (yes 22:20 hrs) to pull the wheels off my bike so I can head out at first light, drive into the States, and have a new set of Dunlop Q2 mounted. The lengths one will go to to salvage an upcoming weekend ride. I will let you know if the interior is still a plan.

I wanted to try the new Bridgestone S20 tire (supposed to be like the Dunlop Q2, and may be replacing the Bridgestone BT-016) Anyone tried the S20?

Wow t5hat is good timing, I have a set of Bridgestone B23's and they are the BEST tire I have ever rode on, Bridgestone has made some great progress in their tire technology.
Have you trie Baysideperformance.com , great guys! ask for Kevin and tell him I refered you. Pierre from Kamloops. Great shop, fast and really good prices for tires etc. I just recieved my tire and also ordered some 6000k HID's low and high beam that I ordered on Tuesday.

Hi Canadiankawasaki,

New slippers on the bike, looks like everything is a go for tomorrow. We will be heading your way tomorrow (Saturday Aug 25). It looks like we will leave the Valley around 8:00am, head up the Fraser Canyon, up to Ashcroft, then loop over to Kamloops. I have left the route up to my buddy Scott for this ride so I will not be 100% sure what he will serve up until I meet up with him tomorrow morning. I would guess that we should be in Kamloops around lunch time or shortly after. Maybe we can meet for lunch. I will send you a PM with my cel number.

Had a great ride yesterday. On the road fresh and eager at 7:30am, back home dead dog tired at 2:30am. We put on 1063km ( 660 miles). I will try to post a ride report with a video or two from the ride. We did pass through Kamloops sometime after the lunch hour.
