Go- Cruise
05/14/12 1:23 PM

Well, I just did a 120 mile ride to go work on my kid's CBRF2,(again!) and got to try my new Go-Cruise throttle lock. It is very simple, clamps over the grip and rests on the brake lever. I had to move my Grip Puppies outboard a bit to make room for it but overall I like it. You have to over rotate a bit when setting it since there is some springback from the rubber grip but once set holds the throttle well. Works as good as my old $125 Throttlemeister for $20.
I'd post a pic but I am a loser and don't have any.

rofl.... not everyone has a digital camera, and some of us (me) that do keep forgetting to take actual pictures.

glad you got it working, those can help a lot.

talkin' about this thing?? Cool. Looks like it's just a clip. No screws. You can take it off pretty easy if you don't want it on there, hey?

I heard the 14 doesn't like to stay at a constant speed with a throttle lock. What's your experience been?

I know my throttlemeisters are a PIA to get set just right but once you get them set it holds

Probably going to get one of these, we want 7/8's correct?

and does anyone know how it compares to this:

which I understand is only a throttle helper, not a "lock".

for $20 it's worth a try.... I use cramp buster or throttle rocker whatever brand it is with my throttlemeister but I think I'm going to pick up one of these to try.

Yeah, 7/8 is the size. It holds well on flat ground, of course hills change everything. It is the one in the pic above. I think it's a good deal for cheap shits like me.

How thick is it?

I have these kind of grips. I'm sure it would slip on the aluminum. Would it be possible to have it positioned more to the center of the grip so it was clamped onto the rubber?

Rook, I don't think it would leave room for your hand. The only thing I can think of would be to line the clamp itself with a strip of rubber so it grips the metal part good. Try it and let us know.
