That looks like a road right by me called Beeline Highway. Just like it. Yes,,,,,, there are water foul that fly across the roadway there. Also wild boars at night.

I've never come that close but I had a goose or a swan or something...seems to me it was an all white duck-like bird fly out and follow the road just like that crane did. Maybe birds use roads to navigate--I don't know. Well, he was coming right at me and all I had time to do was duck (No pun intended) behind the windscreen and brace myself. I saw his white tail feathers go down and that bird gained a few feet of altitude on the spot--straight up. I went right under him turning my neck to peer up at his belly. He was well over my head but only by the grace of God and some nice, quick evasive duck maneuvers. I think I must have scared the crap out of him. The cars behind me probably took some cigar stool bombs to the windshield.

Sometimes we get crows in the road...usually,I "try" to play chicken with em.Don't think I'll be doing that anymore!Had some VERY close calls with grouse and some other type of birds...they always seem to hit the "turn feathers" just in time.Had to definitely duck on a few occasions.Funniest deal was the cougar runnin down the middle line one night out in the middle of nowhere.Pitch black.Come around a curve...there "it" was.Couldn't figure out WHAT it was for a minute.Slowed down and he just kinda ambled out of the center of the road...like saying..."ah,geez..okay...you may pass".As I went past,he had this WAY strange expression on his face, kinda like an evil smile! What a hoot!Watched me go by....wish I'd a had a picture of that one...funny as he%$.I wasn't about to pull over and say "nice kitty, come here".Bastard was big.Certainly didn't act scared of me..that's for sure.

You don't want to end up like this guy. Specially not if you ride without packing a hunting rifle!

That's Blanca from over on Hayabusa.Org. He lives in Florida so that must have been some kind of coastal sea bird. Think he was looking to see if in the process of making the evasive manuever, it lightened it's load on the front of his bike.
I've had a couple of near misses with Turkeys, but all I've ever actually hit were small birds or large bugs.

How about a bug?
Dragonfly in the chin vent. Was riding the ZRX1200 then, and didn't know it was there until we stopped and I took my helmet off.
