Was out on a ride with a friend yesterday in near perfect fall weather, she was on her CBR500R and I was on my trusty ZX-6R and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect ride...right up until my bike quit at a railroad track and wouldn't restart. Drat, we were way out on the backroads but luckily we found a towing service with a flat bed trailer and for the princely sum of $120 including tip, I got a lift back to my house. I found an under torqued battery cable terminal when I got home and the battery was dead, 9.34 Volts on a lithium-ion pack.

Jasmine really likes my ZX-6R, I think I see a Supersport in her future.

Home sweet home and no damage to the bike, the towing service really tied it down well!

Just a note that an AMA membership includes roadside assistance. That alone is worth the membership fee not counting all the other benefits plus the pro-motorcycling work they do.

I agree with Oldman. Iv'e used my AMA tow service 3 times so far. Worked out good. Before I had it my VFR quit on the San Mateo Bridge. So Caltrans sent out a truck. He just hooked it from the lift arm. Ended up cracking both side fairings. Should have demanded a flat bed.

Yea, I really watched this guy as he tied it down but he did a good job and didn't put a scratch on it. It was 17 miles of backroads to get to my house and the price was a very reasonable $95. I gave him a $25 tip for taking his time and not tearing up my fairings.

In the big city this would have been every bit of $200 or more.

+1.......and yoga pants are just fine but I wouldn't mind seeing her peeling off some sweaty leathers.
