V-MAx anyone?
10/02/16 6:05 PM

Had a big Bandit. Loved it. Bulletproof.
Bought a 09 14. Loved it way more. Nothing else will do.
Mom died. Left me some $.
Want another ride.
Always liked the VMax. Thinking about buying a used one.
My question is: After riding the KIng 14, will I like the VMax, or be disappointed?
Opinions Pleez.

I think you'll regret it if you're looking for something that compares or exceeds the 14. Looks cool and might be a tad more comfy but it will not be nearly as fast.

Sorry to hear about your mom tib. No first hand experience with a vmax, but a friend of mine had one for about a week and hated it. Terrible handling and abrupt power when the v boost kicks in.

I've owned an '85 Vmax since new, used it as a daily driver. They are great bikes. My advise, take it for a road test first. Nothing compares to riding a ZX-14.

They look good but as far as performance...I pulled up on and stayed in front of a guy riding one a few years back on my ZX10. My 1989 ZX10 lol ! Bigred1 I agree. The original 900 Eliminator is my favorite bad ass bike. Easy to ride and damned easy to launch.

I have loved the styling of the new generation of Vmax, but they are pretty heavy. Never ridden one, but if I was to get a Vmax, I would put it on an Ethiopian crackhead diet. Maybe with 100lbs of weight reduction, it would be able to corner.

The latest pic is on page 3 of "Turbo bug bites" thread in turbo section. That shows my new rims. Got her all stripped down and light, but since the turbo, the weight keeps going up.

I had a 85 VMAX and had a bunch of fun with it. Not good on the corners but just a cool bike. I have been searching for another one but waiting for the right deal. Good advice to try one first. UFO closed but they had a bad a$$ carb kit for the VMAX. Good luck!
