Gen 2 Standard Exhaust and Swingarm Bobbins
09/25/15 10:39 PM

Please forgive my newbie questions folks.

Has anyone put swingarm bobbins on a ZX with the newer larger stock exhaust? I had a quick look yesterday and looks to me like if I left them on, the bobbins may foul the exhaust as the swingarm travels through it's range? Seems awful close!

Anyone done this. or have any advice for me?

I have one installed on the left side for my stand, it's not even the size of a regular bobbin (about 1/2 the diameter) and it dented my stock exhaust. So yes, it'll happen if you ride hard enough or just hit some big bump or something.

Cool, glad I noticed. Thanks for the confirmation although it sucks that it happened to you.

I guess I'll have to take the bobbins off each time.

Oh no... I don't care. Just put a small dent in the bottom of the muffler. It wouldn't ever be visible except underneath the bike. I don't have hte stock exhaust any more so it's all good. Not sure the larger hoop stand bobbins would probably make a larger dent.
