Went over to my dealer's yesterday to pick up my Kawasaki shock wrench...ya...got to talkin...told him I was missin riding..there's still good weather here..just cold.He tells me..."go ahead, you can take er out and ride(my trade up Blue baby)...I don't care"...hmmmm....it WAS tempting...if only for a second .

I keep mentioning to the counter guy..he's trying to sell his R1..."you really SHOULD buy this 14 bro"..He says..."Sheesh...too much power there for me"....I tell him..."No way my man...you'll love it".....people who've never ridden the big ninja just don't understand. One ride...they're hooked!Good price as well....5,000.Tempted to buy er back myself!!!!!

Tada!Yeppers...it's me alright.Thought ya'll knew I changed up...I'm still the same though. No Rook...it's a done deal.November sometime.Shock wrench...ya....things are gonna be different with this new baby. Not gonna attempt to use anything that DOES NOT FIT at all.No vise-grips...no slightly larger sockets.Nope.Full on fitting tools and stuff. Not that I tore up my other baby with a bunch of rounded heads and such.No.BUT....those things tend to occasionally slip ya know...then....yer stuck with a less than perfect deal.Unless ya replace it of course.

Yer funny Bean!Hope you're gettin caught up on yer railin. You are, right?Leg's doin fine now?

And Rook...how could you NOT know who I was?

Bigwillie... ...I'm waitin...it's killin me,but I am.I have this new baby ready for my personal upgrades.Or should I say....I have the upgrades ready!Ya...that's what I meant.New CS ONES Vance and Hines(black ceramic).Be nice if the windshield is interchangeable with the earlier birds.Throttlemiester.Rifleman's 1/5th throttle mod.Risers..if I need em...they look like they'll fit okay.CF hugger...just for keepin the shock area clean. Most of that stuff looks like it's gonna work on there.I was checkin out some pics of an 08 and up compared to the same view of the 14R...looks to me like all the frame fittings are the same...only the swingarm is out a bit.But the pipe fittings on the frame and all look the same.Pegs...all that.Even the rear fairing..the one under the shock thing...that has not been extended out to follow the swingarm increase.Midpipe connection looks the same length also.

Have a set of four HIDs coming as well...55w 6000K's.Ignitor's in the ballast. One piece...slim...very good looking for fitment and clutter.

You know,I was lookin at that rear cowl...I'm wondering IF maybe, when they redesigned the shape,if they didn't POSSIBLY have in mind guys wanting to switch to a Connie foam seat.Gotta say,the new seat shape(at the back) is very close to the connie shape now...and that flattish topmost shape of the new cowl just may clear the pillion shape of the connie seat. That would be way cool.Change that stock seat out...without needing to shave down a nice seat(the connie)so the cowl will fit.Looks like it just might to me .

Knew that was Blue, I mean Mr. Green...Can't wait to hear ur review of the 14R; nice early Christmas gift to yourself. You must be going crazy waiting. I have the CS One's on my 09 bike and luv the sound. Deep enough base at idle with a nice high performance sound when getting in the upper RPM range. IDK what performance gain you will get on the 14R, but gave the best HP & Torque #'s on Gen II bikes (Super Street Bike Mag).

Hey Shogun..that's GREAT to hear!I was wondering if someone here had a set.Can you tell me about the fitment?Fitting over the midpipe....and IF you think even if the new stock pipes are a shade longer at the midpipe, you think the CS ONEs will still fit up okay, maybe a slight mod to the right side bracket on the frame there? Thanks Shogun.

Yah, I hear you Grn - the anticipation of one of you guys taking delivery of your new ride is killing me also! I still have a little while to go - trying to make the purchase in cash so I'll need a few months to build up the savings account...

As far as the mods go, I've been really checking the new bird out - well, pics of it anyway. Some of the hi-def pics allow you you to get pretty good looks at parts of it. I think that we will be surprised at how many of the old bits will fit the new 14R!!! I think that lots don't realize, that although a lot was changed, a lot was left alone as well... Brakes rotors, windshield, wheels, grips, clutch/brake levers, lights are probrably interchangeable. The seat does look a lot like the Connie seat, maybe it is interchangeable also... time will tell... Those CS Ones look nice, hope that they fit!!!!

To be honest Grn14, I would check with Vance & Hines directly to make sure there aren't any issues and/or are they makin new slips for the 14r. The 14r new exhaust looks so different plus I heard some say that the cats are not located in the same area of earlier bikes. IDK, maybe waiting awhile to make any changes especially to exhaust might be better. Kawi may have really done their homework with this exhaust; yes ugly imo but sound might be much better which makes slipson a waste of $$$$ even with weight reduction considerations. I would wait for the co's like Brock/ Muzzy to do their thing 1st to see what hp gains they can get with full systems.

Draggers need all the weight reduction and hp/torque they can get but for the street this new bike might be perfect. I luv my 09, with its current power to weight ratio for where I ride most which is in the twisties...

Ya...I hear hear ya Shogun.I'm taking a 'guess' here comparing the fitup of the midpipe to the collector...if it's off,it's only off by an inch or so.Nothing serious looking. If that's the only deal with em,that will easy to work with.I'm hopin. It does look VERY much the same as far as how far back the connection is.There's a couple of inches(maybe a bit less)to work with...so I'm thinkin they should fit. That whole area right there doesn't appear to be changed.Only the cat that's right there before the two split off.The length looks just about the same.Alas....I already HAVE a set on the way!Too late now.I'll get er done,or not!Do you know the diameter of your midpipe connection there? The stock pipe connection on the factory midpipe is just at 2 1/2 inches.Pretty open. They mentioned in their fact sheet(Kawasaki)that the header pipe(s)were larger at the head, and tapering down to the cat(and the two connections)So it sounds like the diameter has not been changed at the split. If not....they'll fit.One inch can easily be shaved from the midpipe CS and the factory split pipe(s)...All the angles look the same to me as it passes under the footpegs and brake pedal.Shave just enough off to get that attachment tab lined in with the frame.Doesn't look like there's gonna be any problem."Always the optimist"...

Nice pics Bean....looks like a fine day in OZ!

Blue, I had the slips installed at my local dealership, so don't have install details but based on info you have already shouldn't be a problem...........
