C'mon Grn,
Quit your bellyachin. We metro guys know there ain't no traffic out there in Big Sky country!
Besides which, nothing is more skeeeeery fun than blastin through fast moving heavy cage traffic at dusk!
Gets the blood up, fer sure.

BTW, did you know that the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky is finishing up a killer track for members and car clubs and motorcycle clubs!
Now, when the 14 Nation gets chartered with the AMA, why not see if we can schedule the track as a club? The area is near the heart of some awesome Appalachian riding and would make a great rally site., IMO.

Phuck'n great idea!!!
We need about 25 members to get the AMA's nod to host an event as fine as the one you suggest Paul!!!! But to get down and rep - I would love to go!!!!!!!!
Details if you got em, if not I'll put in a call. May the almighty show mercy to Nation Competitors. Pray for them!

I like the enthusiasm, yes indeed. But when you rent the track its yours, no Vettes to run around unless you bring your own.
Here's the track layout by next fall; that's 2014 you all.
Here's the reply to my initial inquiry yesterday:
"Hi Paul, we have worked out some of our rental pricing and most of the general
information. Our planning Grand Opening is scheduled for our Labor Day weekend
20th Anniversary (of the NCM) event in 2014.
Depending on the circuit selected, weekend rentals run from $8900 for the 2 mile
West Circuit to $12800 for the combined 2.87mile Grand Max which has a 4000'
straight. Included in the rental price are fire, EMT (advanced life support
available), tow (trailer for bikes), classroom, radios, PA system, classroom,
gate control and flags for classroom use.
I will be in Monday-Wednesday next week if you would like to discuss this
further including available dates. Currently we have all weekends October 2014,
2015 and April 2015 booked.

Subject: Track rental
Hi,
Track looks great. Future dev. planned is even better!
Do you have rental packages decided?
I understand that fall of 2014 is estimated opening and am inquiring for a newly
minted mc owners group being chartered with the AMA.
Enthusiast group is formed around the Kawasaki ZX14, the world's most powerful
production motorcycle. Current members are also Chevy racing fans.
The MSP could be a destination national/ international rally event.
Any info that you might have to share regarding track rental would be
appreciated.
Thank you,
Paul B"
Now, 14 Nation, that works out to 512 dollars for each of 25 attendees for the large track with the 40000 ft straight! Not bad at all. And who wants weekends anyway? Not me. This has got to be a multi-day rally at a hotel in the area and track day(s) during the week if possible.
Some time in the late summer or fall would be best, IMO. We get more than 25 and the cost per goes down of course and the services seem generous at that price to me, what do yo think?
I will send another reply shortly with the link to the NCM site and Roc's e-mail. We should definitely look into this if there are 25 or more commitments. I should tell you that "insiders" speculate that the track will NOT be done in time for the planned grand opening next fall; and if week-days are possible, maybe no big hurry to secure.
Follow-up link next letter,
Post edit: Damn! I just re-read this and it now seems to me that the West track may be all we need! Price just dropped to 8900 dollars?? Unless Roc has his east and west back-ass-ward! No 4000 ft straight without combining tracks but that section on the West track looks long enough to me! Group of 25 becomes $356 per rida'.

Re: NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM; Motorsport Park
Wolf,
You seem ready to pursue this and indicate that it is premature until we have 25 charter members? Is that right?
Here's link to the MSP and Roc's contact email (under contacts header at top, naturally).
Evidently they are eager to work with us on this. Reference my initial inquiry of course.

Hey Paul!!!! I just fing wake up from a nap and ya blow my mind! I'm in! Wow! Thank you for the legwork on this! These events never happen unless someone steps up and does what you just did! I am in! I will ride across. Put me down. We can make it a Kool assed Nation event: little patch or tshirt to commemorate it. Let's do it! You have my 100% support on a big frickin Kool assed 14Nation trackday. And corvette museum!? Of course!!!! My personal favorite is the c-6 z-06. Nothing like 7.0 liters of Chevy screaming to 7200 rpm.

NCM MSP track rental rally possibilities and brief update:
Hello all. I have been pursuing information on renting the Nat. Corvette Museum Motor Sport Park for a 14 Nation and AMA sanctioned event, as you know, if you have been reading this thread.
Here is snapshot of the most requested configurations for rental:
The track can be divided into two sections as seen in my letter above for individual or possibly dual rentals. I have also received info on reduced prices for rental during the week; as in we have a rally in the beautiful Smokies and include a day (or two) at the MSP during the rally week.
On this website we have representation of many talented peoples with the expertise to contribute to a strong club and specifically to scheduling, organizing, and providing classroom help/ instruction for this track rental/ rally.
All that is required is a willingness to join and participate in your own interest and the interest of others. We can aid, educate, coach, and support each other in pursuit of riding excellence and simple enjoyment of the marque without
sacrificing identity or individuality.
Making a strong club membership and making an national event like this happen is not easy, especially when dealing with the sometimes fiercely independent riders that are attracted to a specialty niche of motorcycling represented by the unique ZX14. It can be well worth the effort though because without a chartered club and AMA sanction it is unlikely to ever happen that such an event could be arranged. Here is a chance to not just participate in just a track day on someone else's terms but to run our own track schedule within the protection and sanction of the AMA and under the auspices of an established national organization, the NCM.
If you are interested in participating and contributing enthusiastically to the formation of 14 Nation and ongoing events like national rides/rallys and this opportunity to effect a club managed track experience for beginners as well as more expert riders; let it be known sooner rather than later!
You can contact the 14 Nation leadership at the threads labelled with the name on the General ZX14R sub forum. Again, I say; " Lets Ride!"
