did the first oil change on the 14R, what a piece of cake not removing fairings and enough clearance to work...used my plastic filter cup wrench socket, filter came right off...drain bolt, same, I was hoping the filter would give me no trouble, it didn't...no surprises

252 miles the oil looked pretty good, still could see through it, definitely would not want to leave it in there for 600, but looked pretty clean...I run it in harder than recommended like I did with all my other bikes with good results(no under 4000RPM crap).......I put on a new OEM filter and regular Kawasaki 10w-40 oil for the first one, next oil change will probably be at 6-700 miles with Mobil1 4T....

finally got to get out for a ride after the oil change, man what a difference...regular kawi oil and the shifting is like butter...power is unbelievable, I love this machine....feels like my Gen IV zx-10r with gobs of torque and comfort...awesome streetbike.....next oil change Mobil1 4T....

I bought a special "Snap-On" oil filter cap wrench for a TOYOTA. It's the same size and this one fits really well and is made for high torque....However, I found that my factory filter was NOT on very tight like some have reported. My bike is a later 2014 so I'm guessing that Kawasaki remedied the "welded" on oil filter issue? Any way it also will work for my Tacoma, Yaris and Scion XB, so it'll get some use. My oil was FULL of metallic suspended particles at 100 miles.
