I remember hearing that the speedcells don't hold a charge in the cold weather like a regular battery does.
Bg, when I first installed this battery I had the same symptoms. At the time the temp here was around 17c and my bike would not turn over. So I was trying all the tricks. Turn on key, let the battery warm up some, try to turn it over once or twice(not enough to kill it) wait again then try. With each try the bike would turn over faster. When I did not allow enough time between attempts I would just kill it.
I got scared early on but as the temp rose so did the batteries performance.
I can't remember how to convert but I do believe it's double the number and add 32 to get the Fahrenheit # Sooooo, 17 x 2 + 32 = battery NFG at or below 66 F, also = put stock one back in till temp stays above 22c or 76F
This battery never did turn the starter over with quite the same authority as the stocker and I found myself resetting the clock on more than on occasion mostly because I was to impatient to wait.
IMO, this is warm weather battery only and is Perfect for the track. Just don't let bike cool down lol
My stock one will be going in this weekend. I too am now having the same trouble. No biggy, just a pain in the ass. I hope this helps in some way Cheers.
Battery still Good, don't through it out. Cheers
