Such a shame cos the bike is in fantasyic condition, only 2 owners,13,020 miles, all 3 keys and masses of paperwork.I just hope someones got a good pair for sale out there somewhere!!

Auron it's not that they couldn't fit it's that in most cases the engine case on the 14R is a little taller and the headers actually hit the bottom of the engine case. I've seen pics of that too. The engine case is the main difference in whether they fit, and if the Gen 1 pipes are "deep" enough they'll fit. The other factor is diameter of the pipes, Gen 2 calls for larger diameters due to the increased displacement.
Yosh's current R77 fits were designed for Gen 2 but then also backwards compatible with Gen 1. I believe that people have successfully installed the Gen 1 Ti pipes on Gen 2s as well.

I was told over and over it wouldn't fit. All I want to do is mount the older pipes that look better and don't have a cat.
The question is, how will it run with that set-up? I'd be happy to trade some mid-range for top end. Ivan has had better success with the older pipe because the 14R's are just so damn big/fat

Auron, good to know. To answer your question from your previous post. I tried to put my 08 headers on my 2014. Unfortunately I didn't take photos.
The problem I had was in the bend of the headers at the front of the sump. It rubbed/jammed up against the bolt. Admittedly I never tried 06 headers. There could well be a difference in length.

Thats so weird. Did you try to mount the pipes? I did not because id need to buy some
Yes sir. My experience came from quite a bit of experimenting and modifying the original exhausts to pretty much get the same set up as aftermarket but at a fraction of the costs. Which I got pretty close to on my 08. None the less I had the sense to not experiment on my original exhaust but bought a set to modify. I still had the original exhaust off my 08 which I kept.
I mounted them on my 14R and all looked good until I tightened up the bolts on the engine side. That's when it rubbed up against the engine at the bottom. It's only on one pipe. The rest clear the motor. Double checked they are not bent?
If I measure them it looks to be around 5-6mm shorter than the 14r headers. There is also a slightly different construction to the 14r headers. As stated by Vic the gen 1 pipes are thinner, they also have a different configuration where all four pipes meet. Not sure if this makes a difference in the shape or clearance. Might be why they changed it for the 14r so as to make it clear the engine.
However if you haven't bought any yet, see if you can buy them on the basis of returning them if they don't fit. I found there are quite a few dealers with original headers lying in the back of their shops from customers who changed to aftermarket.
