ok try to make this short and sweet... i guess it's true never know in this world sometimes.

ok decided today was the day i would drop the deposit and buy the bike.. talked about it long enough. lol

at the bank 10 mins before it opens.. 2 grand of hundred dollar bills...wallet so thick i had to rest the baby on the passerger seat to thick to seat on that bitch.

so i get to the dealership and me and the salesmen are shooting the shit and i was geting ready to do the paper work and stuff. and the sales guy goes mark before we do this i need to show you something, i say ok.

takes me to a side room in the dealership and their are bunch of bikes in there... and he shows me something called a suzuki gsx1250fa in jet black... never even knew they made one...tells me the bike needs to get out of hear and i will sell it to you taday for $8995.00

he says the torgue figures are close to the kawa but the 14 will have a bigger top end kick... but on the low end the 1250 will pull like a freight train and holds it's own..... so the deals gets done and i pick it up in 2 weeks... guess you never know in this world.

but she looks like a keeper !!

Mark, I did the exact opposite. I initially planned on buying the GSX-1250FA back in October but once the release of the 14R was announced I decided to hold off and get the Kawasaki.

Congratulations on your new purchase. You're going to love it! ABS and a centerstand come standard and it's the tried and true Bandit bike with a fairing. Not much not to like there!

Bought one of these last year 2007 bandit 1250,same bike.yes its torquie but not even close to the 14.plus 100 rwhp got boring pretty fast, got rid of it after 1000 miles

thanks guys ... took the day off from work so i just got back from my freinds house he helped me clean her up...have to bring the bike in sat for the 3750 plus tax saving.

stoped by the auto store and picked up some meguiars gold class wax dude at the counter said it works great on black bikes.....hope i don't spend all my time cleaning it and my girls leave me. lol

but she walks with a slight limp and shes not going anywhere ... stupid lawnmower accident she lost 3 toes but i make her wear a sock to bed...im glad she doesn't know my password she be mad.

anyways back to bikes ... i know they are both good size which one would be faster in the corners and will she run wide mid-corner ?

If you bought this intending to keep up with people on sportbikes,your gonna be disappointed. It has very low tech suspension, forks are not inverted, it bottoms out quite easy when pushed.wasn't many adjustments. To help fix this.its steers nice until a 6/10ths pace,but all done there.guess it depends on what your gonna do with it.the 14a is faster, smoother,handles way better and is almost as comfy.

There is no comparison the 14 handles better.the bandit is the more of a touring bike with the a little sport in it.the new ninja 1000 would be a better bike.you could get the 1250busa and go to Dale walker holeshot performance spent alot of money improve the performance and still be slower than the 14.and I'm comparing my gen1 14 not the new 14r,which is in another league.

Not sure how you drive,if your only at a moderate fast pace,you might like the 1250.I did at first,then I went on a group ride where the pace went up and I was bottoming out and whiggleing all over there place.I stopped eating drivit and went back to my old zx12.then I traded it for the 14 and there was no going back.

The bandit is quick an mean. It was one of my picks because I used to service those and they were sporty, light, so so cornering. It's not a full gsx-R kind of handling, but you won't be disappointed at any of it. They are a sweet step down from the step ups, meaning, busa,R, rr, etc.

Did you get any saddle bags or anything with it? The reason I ask, it that Suzuki is running a special, where you can get the saddle bag set and hardware for $199 (retails for $1085), with the purchase of a 2011 GSX1250FA. You can also get the detatchable trunk for $230. This info was in the January 2012 issue of Cycle World. The special is good through March 2012. I would definatly look into getting this, just for the one or two trips that I take a year.
Seems like the bandit would be the logical choice for me. I have owned my 14 since the end of sept., and have not run it past 7K rpm., no need. I am just a cruiser at heart, with just enough cornering to make life interesting.
I just needed a bigger bike frame under my body, than the zzr600 that I had. The bandit probably would have been fine, but now that I have the 14, I wouldn't trade it for anything, except a 2012 14R.

Those are great bikes and you got a good deal too, but I don't see it touching the 14R's power anywhere in the rev range. Not that you really need that kind of power.

Congrats. But I don't understand the two weeks wait. The money is in your pocket, the bike is at the dealer.... what else is need?

Thanks blacklight ... i will look into those bags and stuff and see what the deal is, i hope he didn't sell the stuff to another rider and that's why the big discount.... hiker just have to move some things around so i have the rest of the money for the bike..salesmen said just call 2 days in advance and he can prep the bike in 3 or 4 hours..so i may pick it up sooner still no snow in new york and the roads don't have really any salt to speak of.

just going with the liability i can now drop the theft insurance..... not sure any body will want to steal it as much as the 14r. lol
