When The Unspeakable Happens
02/16/14 1:04 PM

Got my bike back yesterday from RCC where she was having New Lungs installed. All went well, pulled bike off Dyno then went directly into back of Truck. Three hour Drive to home with my new pride and joy. Pumped.

Now time to unload. We used my neighbors car Hoist due the excessive amount of snow and ice every where around here.

Then it happened, the unspeakable, I fell down through the hole,(Fucccccckkkkkk)used my hip and leg to save the bike from falling through on top of me. End Result left side of bike needs all new plastics. Heart along with Pride Totally Crushed. Body will heel.

In most cases I deal with Fuck ups quite well and move forward. This Time not doing so well.

I will post a few pics when I get up enough nerve to go look at the damage. UGH !

Dude, I was crushed when you told me this news.
I'm so sorry for you. I wish you would have taken me up on my offer to bring it home for you in my sprinter van.
I'll throw out the offer for help, but know you are more than capable to handle it on your own. Really was bummed when you told me.
Don't dwell on it.... it will look like new again before the riding season starts.

Take care buddy,

Have a whole collection of plastics you can have. This is greatly disappointing. If you'd like the top front piece and a side panel, (mint) they are yours.
Feel bad for you Romes.

Got the top piece, the one that hugs the headlights and a side panel fin.
Happy to pass it over to you.

Thank You once again for the offer. As you know beast my work life of 60 to 80 hours a week often keeps me from family and friends. Also keeps me from taking up any offers for help. If I see a window of time to enjoy my passion in these bikes I steal the time. Most often spurt of the moment decision have to be made. In this case I was still not sure I was even able to go until 5am. Always work issues. Who wants a phone call at that hour. Only Crystal ball would have stopped me from going once I saw the opening. Working all night, playing motorcycle all day may have played a role in my stupid decision making during the unload.

Grn said it best "Shit Happens" If any of you have ever had your bike fall over you know the pain in your gut that keeps you up night. Same one.

Have fins and top piece. A spring came off a rider and hit my bike causing a small chip ( I had it repaired and so now I have right fin and top fairing that holds windscreen. All peices you need depending on which side she fell over. When one of us suffer a loss we all feel it. Let me know if you want them they are yours.

Left side upper and lower cowling from my quick look is totally gone. George Forman Grill NFG, Rear cowling I remember bulbs visible. Plastic temp was -16 Celsius so plastics shattered like glass. Nose cone looked 50/50. I think charge tube and swing arm held bike from killing me. My neck was against the rail when she came after me. Leg pinned so moving out the way was impossible. Happened in a blink.

I have been loading and unloading bikes in and out of trucks sense I was a kid. Why I never saw this one coming is eating me.

Turn signals front and rear - got em, top plactic (lights and windscreen) and I will unearth fins. This way at least you have some parts that you don't need to replace. I can drop this to Beast and he can give it to you.
Harry will be a good person to source other parts.
The swing arm is going to get chips and flake from the road. I have some really good metal paint if you want to match. It will come together Romes, we will all chip in to help.

Man, I know that feeling all too well. I dropped my MINT RC51 as I rolled it up onto my handy lift and the kickstand was down. Kick stand hit the lift and pitched the bike out of my hands and into a supporting colum. Tank, fairing, fender, screen. $2000 oil change.

Geez Rick sorry to hear that. I've had close calls in the past doing things like this, I guess its just a matter of time before we all get bit. Sounds like your fortunate enough to have a good group of guys around you willing to help you make it whole again. Good luck and hope you heal quickly.

If any of you have ever had your bike fall over you know the pain in your gut that keeps you up night.

You recall my busa dropping over TWICE last Spring, no? ...even parked pointing uphill! I know how bad this sucks. It hurts to see it the way it's not supposed to be almost as bad as it hurts having it fall on you. Also sucks donkey to repurchase the old parts instead of buying cool aftermarket stuff. My heart goes out to you Romes. Way to sacrifice the body. I would have done the same. You might well have prevented a lot of damage to the bike.

now I accept that these things will all end up laying on the ground. It is the destiny of every bike. Trick is don't let it happen too often. 0 mph, everything will go back to normal with a lot of $$$$.

The only parts I have to offer are already busted.

I was getting my mint 14R off a trailor and like a complete idiot, I just came on rolling backwards without inching it down.....Needless to say it ended up on top of me. Damaged my Brocks can, mirror, lower fairing, and bar end.

All are replaced now, but when that happens to you its almost nausianting it makes you so disgusted and well, heartbroken.......

OMG!! Romes, that sucks buddy! I'm just glad YOU'RE ok! Actually, I also have all the Right (Throttle) side plastic. Some very minor scratches on them but if you want them they're yours. I can take pictures of them if you want. It was just an easy lay down sitting still, put my foot down on some acorns that were like marbles and the leg kept going. I replaced them because the bike barely had 100 miles on it when it happened. Anyway, if you want then just let me know!

I have a black right side lower with a little rash on it. You'd have to sand it down and paint it. It's not much but let me know if you want it.
