If you crashed - it goes with the sport.
If it was something else - shit happens.
Takes about a year to really heal like it never happened. Yes residuals. Yes, pain pills are for pussies. Mind over matter. Takes some mastering to ignore it and send the mind somewhere else. Not that it matters, but when I heard Metuchen, it brought back memories. Obviously you're too young for this, but there was a hairpin turn at the corner of Park ave and Talmadge. There was nothing but farmland where Talmadge started and that was just a dirt road to get into the dairy. It was an amazing curve at that bend. Ralph Nader was right. I pushed that car so hard into the turn (who knows how slow that was), but the independent suspension went into this shaking, wobbling, bucking ride around that corner, I thought I was going to die.
Too long to remember what I was riding, but getting off Plainfield road, I was stronger turning right so I usually never let a right turn go by. Meanwhile, this guy that was dating some girl in the neighborhood, was going to see her one day. Eventually they married and I met him some years later. So he tells me that he saw me and sped up just to watch if I was going to crash going around that corner. We laughed.
Talmadge was still a dirt road all the way up to the 287. I had a track to myself because it wasn't open and they were done with this stretch. The snappers were so prehistoric looking; you could see them from the road. Nice to see they have a home still. Couldn't build on it anyway.
I don't know if I want to say thanks for the memories or that day at the barn LOL
