Put ONLY your key for the bike on a soft fob. Treat her special. Other keys are for the car ring! I try not to walk around jangling like a custodial engineer. :)

Every single bike I have had that has the key up there has had the keys or even soft key ring eventually show wear marks up there. As this is my first brand new motorcycle and no one has done the damage before me, I only use the key. No ring or anything.

I already wore off some of mine, might try plastidip, or repaint it and just use the key alone like other have said ....

+1 have a light wire key ring on the bike key and carry it on the ring with your other keys. Take the bike key off the main ring and use it by itself when you ride.

I have an alarm fob on the ring with the bike key. To stop if flapping in the wind and damaging either the yoke or the fob I use a small piece of velcro, the spikey bit on the yoke, the hairy bit on the fob and 'stick' the fob in place while riding. works a treat.

Okay, I know I'm posting on an old thread, but, if you really need to keep your motorcycle keys on your key chain, just plasti dip the small end of a detachable key ring, and use the smallest ring you can find, like this :
