Can launch control be added to the 2006 ZX14? I see that MSD offers a 4350 but couldn't really find any reviews on it or how it actually works.

Yes, it will work. As far as harness to the 4350, doesn't look that complicated if back-probed at the OEM harness, meaning.

Check on Woolich kits.. FUK you can have Launch control and EVERYTHING on the busa. Don't know if it's same for the 14 but for my 08, busa, I'm tossing all modules in the trash and going Woolich. By the time you buy a fuel module you paid for one third of a full race Woolich system. You can't do all the flash does if you only go with modules.

You can do launch control via module with an SB-6 (assuming you can still find one of those----they no longer are in production -----probably because flashing made them irrelevant) or you can go the DynoJet rout with the Ingnition Module. Either will give you a lst gear launch rev limiter you set for whatever rpm you want. SB-6 is two stage launch control.....personally, I thing the DJ ignition module is a little better if you already run a PC5. Ignition module is more elaborate tuning. All said and done. they are equal. IM is cheaper. SB-6 gives you shift light utilities. Both can data log. SB-6 automatically switches to Nitrous map...........long/short, I ordered an SB-6, thought it over more and returned for the Ignition Module. Not enough dif to worry about. Eother one will require tapping OEM wiring if you want full functionality.

Ideally, I would like to find a launch control that would allow a preset RPM in first gear and upon releasing the control, somewhat maintain that level and not just got full blown WOT. Is that what they define as two stage? I found one SB-6 module and it was damn near $500 USD. Cost wise, the MSD 4350 but I am still reading up on it.

Yes, I am 90% certain the two stage launch control is as you described. Stage one would probably be set at about 6000 rpm. Open throttle WOT but it will only rev to 6000 (or whatever you like to launch at) and then ignition is cut. Works for 1st gear only. Sounds exactly like the pulsation of the rev limiter at 11000 rpm but slower of course. Second stage also has rpm you preselect but second stage is time activated. You set the rpm and time you want stage 2 to be active...maybe one second/8000 rpm. Keep the throttle at WO but bike will not rev past 8000 until one second has elapsed.

Yeah, the SB-6 was close to $500 when I bought mine. maybe $460. You are prolly lookin at Orient Express. they were more expensive but these are becoming very rare so if you need, I suggest you buy now. May be all gone by this time next year.

Suggest you call MSD tech support for exact info on 2 stage launch control. I called many times and got good info though the guy was getting sick of me. Feel free to ask me any ? here. I might be able to save you some MSD calls. If I'm not positive, I'll just tell you to call MSD.

You might want to give this thread a read. It basically lays out my learning what these devices do and my choice which was very difficult. See last post by me....I'm pretty much saying they are equal. SB-6 probably a tiny bit better for racing. Romans flashes but he loves his SB-6 with MSD shift box for controlling his autoshifter. Shift kill is ignition cut/gear at selected rpm...shift delay is programmed additional time for movement of mechanical parts/foot/etc. works very nicely, i hear. You can also program shift kill ignition/fuel or both with the PC5 software. no shift delay though. have not tried this yet but presume it would work with any shifter/

I am still leaning towards the MSD 4350 because of price and all I want right now is launch control.

You won't be able to get that with a flash so you'll need it anyway. After you do flash (which you probably will), you can use the SB6 to program your timing and get a PC5 and WB2 to tune fueling. If you don't need best possible performance and your flash was done at the same altitude as you, I doubt you will see any big performance improvements with self tuning. If you do plan to self tune but you still want a flash, I would tell them to make your timing and fueling stock. You can always self tune a flash with modules but it would get confusing not knowing what the flashed timing was set to. There is no autotune for timing so you are pretty much guessing if you self tune flashed timing...if there is ever any need to self tune flashed timing.
