Show your luggage!

Hey guys, I did use the search button but was fairly disapointed. I would just like to see some more picture of your luggage configurations. Maybe I can get some ideas. On my old ninja 650 Givi made a bracket you could mount to the stock grab handle location and you could keep the rear seat cover on and still mount any of their trunks. Wish the 14r had that feature.

I have local guy nearby who I see almost every day on a ZX-14 with luggage - I'll have to snag him at the coffee shop and shoot some photos of his setup.

I myself am of the "backpack only" crowd.

Im a backpack only guy also, but two years ago I rode from Cincinnati, Ohio to about an hour south of St. Louis, MO. I took all back roads with max speeds of 55mph just for fun, and it was a little over 8 hours. Temps got up in the low 90's that day, and I dont care how vented your jacket is, even the best of backpacks on long trips will create a ton of extra body heat. Im an ATGATT guy so its easy to get overheated in the summer.

I use what I consider to be the best motorcycling backpack money can by the Kriega R25 rucksack, but when its hot or I'm on a long trip, I like to have all my luggage on the bike.

I use a eastsport backpack and the duffle bag of choice that will hold what I need straped to the seat since 97, altough the backpack can get a little hot at times it doesn't make me uncomfortable and to me its jump off the bike and no unhooking or anything and lets go play.

Not a pick on the bike, but here is what I use when I run to TN from OH for a week. I was able to get everything in it I needed for 5 days, except for my rain coat, which I bungied to the top of the bag. I got mine on sale for $160-ish

Shown it before but here it is again. Bike just got back from weekend tour in second photo this summer.

Hard luggage adaptions can be seen in other threads on this forum; I am tempted to go that route but to me, somehow, only soft luggage "fits" this bikes image and attitude. You can get just two "buttoned up" or "Norged" with brackets and hard cases and electric this and that.

But that's just my take on it. I used to be in Ham or Amateur radio; but when it got to be all about the latest Gee Whiz computer driven "next-to-magic" appliance operation rather than good old operator-tuned and manually adjusted, cared for and installed ham shack stations, I bought a smart phone and a tablet and put the radio away.
