1st and 2nd Generation Frame Sliders
02/23/13 4:25 PM

Is there a difference between the location of the frame sliders bolt's hole between 1st and 2nd generation?

R&G makes some aero frame sliders for the 14R but I can't see why they wouldn't fit the previous gen

I haven't followed the threads but seems to me GenII owners were asking the same question before sliders were being made for the 14r. I am pretty sure the answer was NO, you canot put Gen I sliders ona GenII.

That makes sense

LoL, I thought my $80-$90 shogun were expensive. That being said, frame sliders saved my bike twice. I don't have any sign of damage on the side fairing...

I thought you could because I have the same shogun frame sliders Werks and a few other members have... but the R&G might be specially made for later model. Too bad because they do look good. I like my Shoguns but these have more of a sporty/functional look without looking cheap.

It looked to me like the mount (engine)holes were configured somewhat differently...instead of a 'straight' shot into the engine/frame like the Gen1's.Could be wrong.Hard to tell without measuring between the two.Removing that side cover isn't much help with a picture.

You have to 'rock' the side cover up and down to remove from the midfairing...Having that right where it is....IDK...seems like you MAY have to remove the slider to get your side cover off...that wouldn't be so good.Looks like the tines are riding right on that slider...not much room there up or down.
