ECM tuneability for Gen 1 questions...
12/26/16 12:32 PM

I have an 08 and am wondering if the newer models of Gen 1's had any ECM changes to allow more adjustability when flashing. Im having ECM flash and Dyno tune done at the same time. Shop owner is investigating it also but i thought some on here might know...

The only way to find out how adjustable the gen1 is, search Woolich racing for the 14. Another way to find out if the injectors do not match the ECU is one will run too rich, running hot would be it too lean. Only a dyno knows for sure.

Looked on Woolich site and the Gen 2 ECM has more adjustability than then Gen 1...some of that being items which arent on the Gen 1 anyway...would a Gen 2 ECM work on a 1st Gen or are they completely different?...im sure i will be happy with him tuning the Gen 1 ECM but if a 2 would allow more tuning i would get one...

Gen1 and gen2 are totally different. The ECU [pin] connector ends are smaller on the 2nd gen. So you'd have to change the harness to match or use the right size of the ECU connector ends and follow those wires to those pins. Stick with gen for gen to make the wiring easy.
