Current pics & stuff

Finally had a nice day to run some twisties with the new FactoryPro shift kit. It is by far the best mod yet!!!!!

I've still got something wrong with the front suspension. I think the lowering, 18" rear tire, etc. is throwing off the front geometry. It really wobbles on de-throttle. It might even be the front tire. I've got a new one ready to go.

Swap out the tire for sure. That OEM BatleCraptasic POS is your issue for sure.

That is one of our more unique 14s ZXSyko. Very nice. I'm not into bits of chrome but you have such large peices that it certainly gets away from the ornamental look. It's awesome with your silver paint.

Thanks, Rook.

MRE, it's a plastic cover so it takes only a bit of special attention. I'm not totally sold on the chrome covers, but for now, it's OK.

Nah--- "WHO" is the Stig.

Sorry, I'm still at a loss as to the significance. Cool name but what does the Stig do? Does he have astigmatism?

18" rear tire?

The bike is definitely... unique.

The stock 14 doesn't turn very well because it's low, long and has heavy wheels.
You lower and stretch yours and also put even heavier wheels and wonder why the bike handles like shit.
I have no other advice to you but to point out that all mods you've done to your bike so far are nothing but detrimental to it's handling.

If your still running a 17 front set up, what till you have to emergency brake at 100%.

Cornering, yeah. but I don't see why there should be a wobble produced by stretching/lowering. Could have to do with the larger wheel in back. Try the new front tire. ( have read many posts about head shake, especially on decel, on the 14. Could be tire cupping which a lot of people get from hard application of brake....which leads me to suggest you keep a little mental note of Heathun's comment above.

Accelerating, braking, transitioning direction- everything is affected by messed up geometry.
Dubious posted a reply in your thread on Bikeland, go back and read his personal experience with lowering
and stretching this bike resulting in unstable front end.

High speed stability is affected by geometry, when you go to an 18 rear and 17 front you steepen up the geometry which in turn affects the high speed stability. It will turn in quicker for the same reasons.

GRANTED; Looks OK !! "Stretching is for What" Showing , Drag Strips and Hill Climbing: "Why" So they don't flipp Be it Good or Bad Taste you "Screw" with a "manufactures" engineered design! "Change the dynamics" sure you can beat someone in a Straight line, like at the " Nullarbor" in Australia, or where else is there a straight without any bends! ya even have 2 bends at nascar ? I am curious how inpractical it is, In turning the best Allround Top Dog THE ZX1400 hyposonic sports/killer into handling like a (harley)----- I meant nah A

Well it might just be rideable enough to fit his needs, Not everyone needs a bike to go around on rails, If he is happy then great, It does look like it would catch a lot of attention.
It maybe the light or two different stages of developement but it looks to have some blue on the left side but not on the right.
Nice looking bike all the same.

Holy crap, my friends!

I leave for a few days & I come back to this! OK, OK, I get it. And the Stig mystery goes on.... :)

Guys, the bike runs, acts, corners, et al, now. It wasn't the 'geometry' that was screwed up. It was the front tire along with a bad left front bearing. Now I can slow down at any speed with 'no hands' & it's steady as a rock.

The 18" rear tire (standard size for wide custom tires) makes absolutely no difference in the front end 'geometry'. We had all that math done BEFORE we did any mods. The 'slight' lowering (front & rear) and 4.5" stretch also did not have any significant effect.

The bike is tailored to my method/style of riding which is 'medium' aggressive. I really don't push it that hard on the public roads. The street is just too unpredictable.... deer, gravel, oil, chip-seal, chickens, barb wire, etc.

The biggest difference in riding with the wider tire is if I trail brake a bit too much, the bike will 'pop' upright. Probably due to its less radical profile.

Anyway, thanks for the comments. I'm just old sportbike wannabee. :)

I knew it.

Still might want to practice braking real hard to feel what starts to happen. I imagine the stretch would counteract the larger back tire to some degree but you don't want to find out in an emergency. Any bike is going to lift the back up if you brake hard.

Same here, hehehehhahahhoh. You know what they say though:::You tend tend to become what you envision yourself to be!
