So...
I've had the 14 since 2012 and finally had a real opportunity to throw down with it last night.
I was riding to a bike night location and came up on a couple guys an R1 and Busa, both stretched.

I goaded the busa to do a run with me... rolling start at 35mph, 4 lane road, NO TRAFFIC anywhere (which is really rare for this road... the stars were aligned, insert Godly choir music here).

We hit it and... let me pause here for a moment to reflect on the fact that unless you really have a reason to unleash this thing you never really seem to get the full on Mortal Kombat flying groin punch that the 14 will lay on you!, now, back to the story... and we both took off! 2nd gear, full twist, fighting to keep the suction pressure up on the butt region to keep me from sliding off the back of the bike...

I see a little white of his bike on my peripheral vision to the right ( oh yeah baby, I was running the fast lane :) ), BAM Third!... my whole fucking body starts to tingle and the white... is gone from my view.

Fourth gear... you know, just to be an ass and drive it home! the road visually narrows and then... it happens. The traffic light up ahead goes red.

So now I'm trying to keep from crushing the twins on the tank (suddenly realized I need to order some stomp grip, and yes that literally went thru my mind). I finally take a peek at the speedo and I am coming down from 120, and this is after I've already got all over the breaks. I am guessing I was bouncing off of 150... can I say "HOLY SHIT" to you? :-D

I met up the guys at bike night and did the introduction and such, nice guys Paul and Mike. Paul, the Guy I took on looks at me and says "man, I was about to roll off on you but I missed 3rd"... yeah sure, why not, that sounded as good as anything else he could have said.

I would really have considered it but he didn't drop out of my view that fast. At any rate it was fun, and even if that is what happened this post was more about the realization of what I was really riding last night than a fun run with a fellow biker.

didn't hear the third honk (he used that once.... and I realized later, he was the one who was honking)

It makes the win even sweeter when they have an excuse..... because you know he has a huge smelly load in his pants, and there isn't a damn thing he can do about it!

Sounds like every trip to the track for me. The 14R is a formidable opponent. Hopefully I'll have a chance to add yet another busa kill to my belt this weekend. I will try to get a vid of the kill if possible.

I never get tired of riding the 14, makes me smile every time .
