Is there something wrong with the thermostat? I'm an "if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it" kinda guy.

WFO, are you aware that you can go to Kawasaki's web page and get all of the part numbers for your bike? They have all of the updated and superseded information right on the page.
-Kawasaki dot com
-Owner info (left column about midway)
-parts diagram
-then input information for your specific bike by either searching for model or entering your exact serial number.

Danno - no its not broke, just snowed in for about six more weeks and trying to do some preventative maintenance. The places I ride are in the middle of nothing, not many houses, not much cell service, just a long walk if your bike breaks down.
Fowvay, Thanks for the info, I did not know that, apparently my local kawasaki dealer didnt know that either.

I had to go with a higher pressure cap for boil over problems. I got one of the hot running 06's. Might be worth checking into.
Your thread reminded Me that is new 'stat' one of my bike chores I need to do before it gets hot. Not a worry during the rainy season here. Oh yea, it rains year round in Western Wa........,lol.
