Went back to all stock today...except lamps and windshield.Gonna give these stock cans a go for a while. After seeing Cblast's paint modding on his....I decided to 'return'.Now she's factory set again....also reinstalled the fuel tank bumpers at the front tabs.Reset the bodywork...it looks fine now.If it stops raining...we're out for a shakedown run.Ya'll stay safe and have fun riding.I sense the factory smoothness is gonna be back.Started her up for a minute....the tank and all felt smoother already(idling). We'll see;)

Pics grn! :) That's cool, I can't bring myself to pull the trigger on an exhaust yet because I love that silky quiet stealthy feel! LEO's don't notice me, and to be clear, when there are cars on the road, never do I stray more than 15 over. When the road is free and clear and dry and I am by myself, well, that's what this girl was made for!!! And on those occasions when I let her breath a little bit, she screams at the upper end in a satisfying way, but does not ever draw attention. I like it.

Pics?Maybe....some time. She's your standard Green with no flames or badging.Stock cans now....nothing 'special'.I feel better about this now already.I have to say...installing those Yoshis wasn't all that I thought they would be....I like the big cans on there...and as you say...the noise and performance factor.I feel the same way...no attention...just quiet rolling .Rained today...so I'll be out soon....I hope;)

I think you did a most excellent job with yours....I painted my first Green one's stock mufflers with that black as well...gonna leave these most likely factory finish. They look fine to me on the Green.Black bike?Yeah....very nice full-on black piping.I've got a pic up in the header of my 1st 2012.The Green one in front of the Rock face.

I'm just a pic hound! :)) I can't stop looking at my bike. I think I need a second one (has to be green!), to keep bone stock and put in the upstairs of my house just to look at.

I like the stock cans except for the weight. The bike feels like a turbine with them on. I put them back on every now and then just for fun.

" The bike feels like a turbine with them on"...yep...my thoughts exactly.Haven't really considered selling the Yoshis....yet.They are nice pipes...but....I just don't think I'll be reinstalling any time soon. For a great streetbike...stock with this bird is VERY hard to match. Now if ya want a dragger...yeah...mod the shi# out of it....but for most excellent street riding....I'm stayin stock.

@ Wolf...."baby"...that's what I call her...Baby.Looks just like Streetracer's without the flames and badges.Add some heli/genmars...an MRA 'spoilerscreen'...blacked out bits and stuff...CF hugger...techspec grip pads...that's mine.New tires soon....Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart 1's.Had em on my last 14R....very good performing tires...very.

I've got the 11 and I agree with you I want to remain stock as much as possible. I have to replace the seat cause the stock makes my ass numb after an hr of riding. I would like the exhaust to be a bit louder so drivers can hear me coming. U

Hey Grn
Yeah I'm struggling with what to do with the exhausts! I actually dont mind the looks of the stockers and I love the smoothness of them its just that damn weight factor that gets to me. About the only ones I have seen that look really good to me are the Vance and Hines CS One Black units. http://www.vanceandhines.com/store/sport/kawasaki/43505
They are basically a smaller, sharper, lighter version of the stockers but they only have them for, up to, the 2011 14's. Hopefully they will have developed them for the 2012 sooooooon.
Oh what to do?????? What didn't you like about the Yoshi's Grn?
Cheers

I'm painting mine.

I have the Yosh slips, I love, love,

To be honest...when I replaced the mufflers...I was a tad 'disappointed'(I guess you could say that)with the weight of the Yoshis...they are lighter...but I wasn't feeling a HUGE weight difference by picking them up.The Brock's definitely were the lightest of the sets.I can sacrifice the gain of weight for stock performance.IDK...seemed like they just weren't doing it for me...?????They're fine pipes and all...no doubt.I may eventually reinstall...with a PCV maybe...IDK yet.I need to get out and ride...see how my bike feels with the stockers back on there.I WAS getting a buzzing feel at several different RPM loads.I need to see if that's gone now.If it is...I won't be reinstalling those Yoshis.I've got a set of new Dunlops here as well...it's possible the factory tires are almost finite'.Two possibles...we'll see.

The weight savings with Yoshi slip-ons is 20lbs vs stock. I had no problem with the stock cans weight or sound, but
every time I looked at the bike all I could see were those grossly oversized cans. For me, they destroyed the looks
of the bike.

They HAD to go !!

For sure !!! First sport bike I owned that I didnt change the gearing and lower the bike. In fact, when I got the bike the rear was lowered and I put it back to stock. I play around with some different cheap exhausts but the smoothness of the stock exhaust cant be matched.

Yup...I agree with you guys....a lot of the 'visual' with this bike is...well....a very personal thing.Everyone 'sees' something different with this new bike.Personally...I think the stock cans are 'in line' with the theme...but that's just me....aftermarkets look good as well....I felt my Yoshis just 'didn't quite match' the looks...crazy as that sounds I know.To me it's like getting a Black Bike...(I love the Black look).Makes me want to go FASTER and FASTER and...oops....shit!...too late;)

Fellas, I don't see how you do it. I've tried to stick with the stock cans but just couldn't. They are toooooo quiet. The 14R is too mean, fast, and powerful to sound like a damn Prius. LMAO!! I had to get aftermarket joints so I wouldn't feel like I was riding a super fast moped. My ego and right hand couldn't take it anymore. LOL! I needed to hear that maaaafucka roar!

I have a set of slips, but realistically the stockers did not bother me all that much (weight maybe, sound maybe). It was the silver bits that just seemed odd and out of place. Since C has painted his and really shown us some cool alternatives I think more of us will hold onto the stocks.

My first one...I blacked out the mufflers and tips and guards...looked okay...but felt I needed to 'lose' the weight.I don't feel that way anymore....the weight saving was pretty good with that Brock's single full system....unfortunately...that whole deal died with my bike. Now I'm not so concerned with a weight saving...I dropped several lbs with the Shorai...I know it's not that much overall...but...it is something.I wish the stock cans didn't have that cat in the muffler there...but it's okay I guess....I can live with it.I doubt I'll be painting these....but maybe...down the line. The added weight DOES affect the ride quality....that's for sure. Not the handling...but the suspension feel in different situations.I could feel it anyway.

I like the look of the 14R much better with the Yoshi's on there and 20 lbs is a significant weight saving Grn. You might try adding the Power Commander and get your mapping dialed in. Ivan?? I know when I went to Yoshi's on my '06 there was a slight change in vibration at around 4000 rpm but after a short while you forget it's there, it becomes the "new normal". The weight loss, looks and sound were the big things for me, a slight gain in performance in the midrange and topend were also quite welcome. If you tried to put stock pipes back on my bike, we'd have to fight ....lol!

Ya...IDK...seems like getting a really good map is iffy. They all say.."Runs smooth(er)than stock"....and when I've done the PC deal....the power gains I could feel...but the quality did go down a bit.At least with my bikes.I think the buzzing with mine may be more linked to the tires than the mapping. It has steadily 'increased' over these miles...I can't believe the bike would be developing a 'buzz' after break-in....I took it relatively easy with this one. It's not a serious thing really...but I can feel it while cruising....doesn't seem like it should be there.

Getting into internet 'pissing matches' just doesn't do it for me anymore I guess...I feel badly about Iliark's thread and where I got into it...and shouldn't have.

We'll see about the Yoshis...I may reinstall...I have a PCV already....mapped with a Brock's street map for his CT single...but that most likely wouldn't work too well with these slips/duals.I need to get out and ride actually...this weather's been fickle....it's really getting at me.

Okay...I was able to get out and ride for a decent amount this AM...The stock mufflers actually did bring back the smoothness of the factory feel.I'm very happy with it.No noticeable difference in any handling...but the engine definitely likes these cans...so they stay. This is a great bike.Power everywhere.Shifting....very nice.Cornering feel....excellent.For Cblast..;)

Anyone try a reflash with slip ons ? thats my next move, sorry I cant stand the stockers, but I do understand the rideability aspect of the stockers, but the bike is still pretty darn smooth with the slip ons ..

Just my 2 cents, not trying to diss anyone that likes the stockers, like Grn said, this bike is awesome right off the showroom floor ...
