Which Brock Map with CT Duals do you run?

Have the 14r with Brock CT Dual exhaust pipes, flies in, PC 5, and Hi perf. air cleaner. I also have 6 different Brock maps....Track and Street.

Wondering which Brock map you are using now on the street currently? Have you tried or used more than one, and can you see any difference between different maps, other than dyno chart results?

David, as you probably know, when a person use so many profiles it is a little difficult to keep track what was said and when. You seem to forgot you asked this question to Brock back in March of 2012. If you are not satisfied with Brocks (the best in the business) answer to you 10 months ago., why don't you back and ask him?

Since you don't have one...just butt out am not interested in your opinions in the least!!

When I had my 2008 ZX14, I put CT-Duals on after having them ceramic coated by Classic Coatings. Very sweet exhaust system even before ceramic coating.

For a good while I ran essentially Brock Davidson's race map, modified to have some street manners.

Then I had Jeffo make me a map, and I know there was a lot of flack about Jeffo, but his map was superior to Brock's in almost every area. It even made more HP on a dyno.

I was blowing blue-ish red flames out the muffler tips that were particularily fun to watch at twilight, I was told, every time I backed off the throttle, like setting up for a turn.

So I talked to Jeffo about it, and he gave me a tweak for the accelerator pump values, and it pretty much fixed that.

Not that the flames were hurting anything, and I got a lot of attention at the 2011 COG National Rally at Mt. Snow, VT with that bike.

I use the PUMP TRACK MAP:

Only one I have tried. Given the power the bike makes, and that I am a mere street rider who *wants a bad machine to have fun on*, I see no need to try any other map.

But you never know. I may start drag racing the bike for fun, here and there, and want to try another map.

Good points, ZX14Man64 !

And frankly, unless you are going to put it on the dyno and pull five runs, so they can average the values and come up with proper A/F and Ignition table values, no need to ever change the map if the one you have doesn't blow your bike up.

And Brock's are always better than average. Thats why he's the man. Him and Don Guhl when you don't want a piggy or want the perfect street map with the ability to store a drag map on the piggy and turn it on when you go to the strip.

I can't wait to have time to ride over to see Guhl, and have him do 5 pulls on my Connie, and re-flash me. It makes a whole new Concours 14 they say, much better than stock.

Of the subject, not that I ever diverge off topic, but over on the COG site, they are debating if a Concours 14 should be repainted Kawasaki Green. Being a purist, I took the position that Kawasaki Green and the R designation both belong to Kawasaki's homologated track bikes (250, 600, 650, 10R) and maybe Kawasaki Green for the ZX14 and ZX14R since they are the street beasts they are. But not the R for the 2012+ ZX14 because it not homologated from anything, its never been a race bike.

Thats a more interesting debate than whether this guy is asking the same question over and over or which map is the best.

Privateer....

I would like to know if you get Guhl to flash the C-14 let us know if there is a big difference that you can really feel over the way you have it configured now.....

See if he has any charts he can show you or you can post of the before and after results on the C-14..lots of riders would be interested in this upgrade if it really makes a noticeable difference.

I bought the CT dual full system, and was only offered the three maps, but thats enough for me, given what I bought the bike for.


Of the three, the Pump Track Map seemed most suited to what I was wanting. Maybe the street would have been better for my use, but I am not what you'd call hardcore about it as I don't strive to squeeze the absolute most outta the bike. I doubt I'll ever really push it to the limit, and I am just happy I could afford to just have the mapped PCV , the full dual system, and that's it.
I run 93 octane in my bike and the Brock's advisor said that may cause me to lose a horsepower or so, but it won't hurt anything.
