Kawaski pricing. Effective march 1st kawaski is damanding all dealers post only retail pricing on websites or in any advertisement. We feel this policy is illegal and plan to challenge it. Until the issue is resolved sale pricing may not appear here come march 1st. Please contact kawaski if you disagree with their policy. Kawaski customer service can be reached at 949-460-5688

Isn't that what they've BEEN doing?MSRP?

MSRP...Manufacturer's SUGGESTED Retail Price. The dealer can go up OR down if he wants.Depends on what anyone is willing to pay,or not.I traded my beloved 07...so I didn't end up paying full price anyway.

A lot of companies only want msrp advertised - Alpinestars, Arai, etc. This doesn't change the fact that you are free to negotiate with your dealer. That is part if the reason to have a good repoir with your dealer any not squeeze every last nickle out of a deal. They are not in the business of giving things away. My dealer always takes care of me, and I haven't paid msrp for the last several bikes. There is a sweet spot that is win win for both sides. At the end of the day you cant expect a stellar deal, just hope it makes sense for both sides.

Bottom line the 14R is worth the money they ask for it. Just about every other country would love US pricing, we have it good. You mentioned before about getting a good deal, what's holding you back?

I can't lie, California is a great place to live. You need a decent job though because nothing is cheap! The year round riding is enough to keep me here paying the taxes......at least for now!!

Probably a good thing I don't live there anymore....I can't imagine going through TWICE as many tires(or more)than I already do!!!! Last season I went through 5 rear tires!2 Fronts. In 5 months. And that's not even riding like everyday.Geez....hopin this Ktrc and slipper clutch deal helps the tire situation .They weren't no el cheapos either.

SOMETHING is seriously wrong when you have an 'extended mileage tire' quit on ya at 2500 miles!Especially when others are gettin 6,8K miles or more outta em .It's like..."FU$%!!!I just replaced that friggin thing!"

I finally gave up on tryin to 'save' my tires.Let er rip baby...they're new...git buzy while ya can!!!!

dealers are able to get around this by not mention the name or model number.... the prices are the same.

ALL THE DEALERS HAVE TO LIST MSRP BUT LIKE THE ONES ON EBAY AND OTHERS, THEY HAVE THE MAKE OFFER BUTTON. MY FRIEND MADE AN OFFER FOR 12799.00 OTD AND THEY SAID. WHEN WILL YOU BE HERE TO PICK IT UP. YOU JUST HAVE TO TALK TO THEM OR PAY MSRP. MOST PEOPLE DONT WANT TO MAKE THAT LITTLE EXTRA STEP, DONT KNOW WHY.

Kawasaki has the ability to tell its dealers to stand on their heads and sing songs if they want to. Customers and dealers have no "rights" beyond what Kawasaki (or Suzuki, or General Electric, it doesn't matter) say they have in selling their products.

Just a fact of the business world. Nothing in U.S. law saying otherwise, either.

If you or a dealer don't like it, go patronize some other manufacturer.

Bought mine from Ridersville Cycle in WV... 12,500 out the door. He doesnt charge delivery fees.
All you have to do when you bring your scooter home is get it titled in you home state and pay
any taxes your state requires. Boom... done. Go like hell.

There is currently a move afoot to ask Kawasaki to censure Ridersville and another WV discount seller, and a few more. A number of tri-state dealers are banding together to demand KHI put a stop to volume selling discounters.

Not even the COSTCO program dealer in Frederick MD can match that price, so they are also upset.

Its good for you the rider, but in the long term, its bad for the bike market, because it will cause trouble and increased prices. And no, KHI is not so impressed with Ridersville's numbers that they won't tell them to get in line and quit taking sales from normal demographic areas.

privateer... no no no bikes are getting to pricey.. you can buy a brand new car for the price of this bike.. a small one but still a whole car.

you sound like you work for the dealers interest... they need to lower these very high prices and get real !

Naw, riders will keep buying the bikes.

Case in point, Harley Davidson.

Or BMW.

I don't have to say anything else. :)

No, but there are dealers such as the one in Frederick MD who participate in the COSTCO Vehicle Purchase Program, and you get quite large discounts.

It started with cars, but now included motorcycles. COSTCO website has tool to find dealers near you. Just have to have a COSTCO card.
