Riding Packs
10/18/09 1:25 AM

Can anyone recommend a riding pack/backpack for our high speed application? I'm asking because after a night out gallivanting I get on the freeway to make my way home and just cant resist (you know exactly what I'm talking about) anyway I get home well ahead of schedule. Only to find out that my house, truck, car, and work keys have FLOWN out of my pack. I really shouldn't have been surprised as I have had things vanish out of that pack on more than one occasion. I'm just lucky that my spare set was inside of my truck and a quick phone call to Onstar saved the day. Anyways back to my question can anyone recommend a pack that is made for speed or maybe one that just works really well?

sam, myself i dont like carrying packs ,bads,ect.. but when i have the lil woman on the back i do have a small tank bag(magnetic) it small enough not to get in my way but big enough for a couple cell phones, smokes, and keys. ive tested this bag out at 175+ mph it will not fly off the bike lol and still allows you to tuck down on the tank good luck

Has 6 magnets that stay on ur tank, works great. There's also a system where u mount a somekind of rack to the Gastank opening part, and u click the bag on the rack. The positives of such a bag : You're safer scratchwise, and its way less likely to get off in some way. Negative - when you dont have the bag on ur bike you do have the little rack on the tank : http://photos.imageevent.com/wingspan/vstrom/websize/tankbag3.jpg But, if you're gonna have the bag with u most of the time like i do (i keep my papers, shoes... wallet etc in it) then its no problem at all.

And a bag for on ur BACK, i would go with simple East Pack. I always used those. http://images.ifguk.co.uk/products/2740/2740-zoom.jpg

I gave up the back pack, couldn't stand wearing it.
For the small stuff I use a Joe Rocket Manta tank bag. It fits great and stays put.

For the big stuff, Givi luggage:

Thanks a lot guys I'll check into those tankbags,I like the idea of them but kinda concerned about scratching my tank. Givi bags are definately on my list!!! If you don't mind me asking whats the total you have invested in your bags, bags and racks? Where is the cheapest place to buy these and does anyone know of someone trying to offload a pair?

Sorry I forgot to get back to you.
I purchased the rack and bags from Twistedthrottle.com.
Got the stuff in 3 days.
The rack $229.99 http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/3068
The bags $490.50 http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/2807

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't make a link work.

I always intended to get one of these. They sure look cool.

They don't look like they will hold much but if you're hauling groceries, Id just go with a camping back pack.

Kriega makes the best motorcycle back bags, IMO.

KAWAMIKIE, thanks for getting back to me. That is an awesome setup, but a lil out of my scope. Maybe I can find a good used set. I've kinda got my hands into everything now, I just ordered two sets of HIDS a thermal riding suit and fixing to bite the bullet on exhaust that I wont install until I get a PC. Those freaking hardpacks look way cool! I also like those kriega's man so much stuff to buy! I've gotta keep killing the OT!

I have a axio and I like it for around town as any pack will bug me after a hour or two

The Axio's are a little pricey but built well and hold a lot of stuff. They look good on the ZX also
