Rotella T6 5W40 Gets JASO MA Appoval!
05/05/10 7:56 AM

Good news for you guys that have been running Rotella oil in your bikes for years and had to weather all the BS from uninformed naysayers. They now have the motor cycle specific JASO MA rating on both the 5W40 T6 Synthetic and 15W40 products. As far as Iknow this is the first non-motorcycle specific oil to receive these ratings. Kudos to Shell Oil company for going to the added expense to add these ratings for us.

Professor, I do not profess to be anything more than the dumb dork that I am. Now, you can look at some bright people and then ask yourself questions, you ignoring the rest of the world and their myths is more what I see. For example:

1. Tre Myth. Did WE not snuff that one out by looking at the 1999 shop manual? There were others contributing to the electrical default code, right?
2. Flow Bench Myth. I more or less have to find someone's science, reading a head on a bench, sees a set of numbers that way. I see my head is running as designed. My flow meter reads a constant. How can the flow on some head drop off when you push air at it, rather than have the air pulse is my suck? Do I flow with the bench theory or what is metered to my eyes and camera lens proof positive, there is your constant.
3. Dyno Eyes. Someone reads the dyno is give this guy a 14. So, a claim of lean, don't ride you mess with the sub system? You read that and go, WOT did that myth just blow out one ear and in the other, I don't know shit now! Now, I myth that baby and you know the drill < Pun.
4. Olive Oil, Eyes. would be harvesting that goo on top of the ocean. Race fuel and paraffin for life! You found a gold ring on the shore. 20 years later, you gonna ask who the ring belongs to? Oil tie that around by the bucket full is new industry. If I take 30 year old oil, and some new old stock of a label, is sheer that on some gears, aim that right at the hottest part of the engine is that rod bearing rubbing those hands together heat you can feel. Do I myth another myth? I'm going to let this engine warm up on it's own with video. I'm going to stick my fingers and hands over the pipe so you see from time span to idle.

How many more myths do you want to add, or am I full of shithese days? You do to your bike what you need to do label wise and all those map cries. Figure'd I stir up some oil myth... Come get some.

OK Hub, when I get home today, I'm going to fill my TRE up with Rotella, strap the bike to a dyno and pressurize the inlet with a hairdryer..... just for you!

Your bike, Professor. I have ears and eyes. I have zip needle flutter I show up on the line. Compression is good. No puff on start up. Idle is book psi, if I kept it high in the rpm of it all it all. Butt look and listen to the meters. Let them speak for themselves. I'm just in the shadows. Letting the bike speak for my oil choice IS no science involved.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntAgnne5GPc You need 29psi of a hair dryer is cut that in half so the engine has half the gulp, then shit yeah, I'd throw that dryer on as quick as a Poise pad!

I think Hub no-likes Rotella(Shell). My Royal Purple's working just ducky. It's amazing actually to me just how much Hub really knows (I don't mean that sarcastically either).

Actually, blue, Rotella has been through the bike and it seems to me, that has to be the most plush shifting, fresh new oil feeling; that it makes that much difference than all the other brands I've poured in so far. I might go back to 50/50 Rotella soon. Haven't tried the Royal-P, but I'd put it up against it.

I wouldn't worry about it, they don't make anything that'd work in an old clapped out Merc anyway....

Which.....JASO or Rotella? I don't remember ever saying much about JASO MA except that it is the only recognized standard for motorcycle specific oils in the world.

Over on ZX-10R.net they ran a poll recently and 50% of the members currently run Rotella synthetic in their 10s. I don't know what all the hate is about, if you don't like Rotella don't run it... that simple.

There are a lot of oils, like Amsoil, that I have never tried, too pricey for me but I don't hate on it or hate on those who run it. Just my .02

Tastes like chicken Poll... People eat shit and they tell me it tastes like poo sea twat I'm saying?

A/F ratio samples Poll... Sample my 600~500`Over CC'd sampled.

Throw away your calendar Poll... days don't count anymore.

Statisticians never think of using polls measuring even their own test, then add icles, you have 2.

2 guys come up with the same conclusion and they sit right here with facts, no fiction and how is it my foot feels the same diminishing returns?

1. The Kruz Oilstone Report: Short take I get; is decomposition real early no matter the brand.
2. The Blue Notes: I tend to feel the same footnote on the tip toe @ 1,500 or there about.
3. The open for discussion, but how can I feel the same sign off at around 1,500 miles or there about if Kruz reads 1,500 mile oil notes, blue feels the same pedal I do and I'm on average, 2,700 miles on the dump, according to my intervals.

You read guys run the 500 milers, their oil thickens up through evap before the race is over. Heat just cakes that sludge on parts within 30,000 miles you never add a drop or change the oil. Sorta what looks like what is floating out in Clumplantic.

Yer right Hub, all oils will lose viscosity in the first 1500 miles, typical garden variey dyno oils are down to 77% and synthetics down to 86% of original viscosity. After that they are pretty stable for the next 7 to 8 thousand miles.

I don't think you can go wrong changing at 1500 to 2000 miles. You could probably run WalMart house brand for that length of time and no sludge formation.

I change my oil often cause it makes me feel good.... not out of necessity.

BTW JASO MA is only important to me because of the wet clutch test.
