Last I hear Brock was getting 227 hp out of his 14r and still working getting out more from basic mods.

Glad to see there is a place for hyperbikes in the lineup again.

I have a gen 1 14 oh, did I mention I have a busa too.

No matter what I have or what they do with the busa some day, It really sucks to not be able to have a 14r right now.

aleast you have couple nice bike and from that pics looks like you ride pretty good... there will also be better just ... just how soon and when.

last night a friend came over with a new fz8 yamaha he let me take if for a ride never drove a streetfighter before.... what a nice and fun bike.... every ride one ?

Gotta gen-up, Rook. Time seems to goes fast you think gen-1, look back and count the years. Life is shorter the older you get. I'm going to either trade or will be forced to sell it, so I meet that number. I know they need to make a profit and all that... But that is twice the hit. I have the ape for a markeypoo backup 250 size kind of slowpoke.

Then, trade in the ape; have shock money/spare tires/wheel bearings/gas/etc.

Hub: i figured you would go for the RSV4.

Yes I know I should stop bitching or I will only drive myself crazy.. But really, the 14r is the reason to have hyperbike and the predecessors have lost ground to the most recent literbikes in the performance dept. I sometimes feel as though my old bikes have lost their place in the universe.

Oh dear God NOOOOOO!. The thought passed through my mind and I just can't bring myself to do it. As much as I envy the new 14r, I still love my old bikes. I have so much invested in $$$ and so many memories and hours of thoughts and dreams......and a lot have actually come true. NOt bad for just a hobby. I can't see doing it yet. Tell you the truth, I don't think I will want to let the 14 go for 7 or 8 years at least. It will become a highly polished statue on a pedestal in my garage some day.

I have to stick my head back in the sand for a while again. Do some mods and pretend this hasn't happened. With any luck, I won't see a 14r on the street for another year.

The reason why I put my 08 up was because I knew the 2012 was not just another year, I knew it was a hop skip and a jump better than my beloved silver 08. I am 68 and I don't know how many more years I will be able to do this and I wasn't going to waste any time. Forty-nine thousand miles+ on the 08 and 4290 on the 2012. The rain stops tomorrow and I will ride.

Most of the mods will transfer from my 08 to a G2. I could do it butthe time is not quite right for me. Anyway, I can easily live without the r for a while. I really dig the 14 and all the mods make it just about everything I ever dreamed it could be. I really never thought I would do all the mods I have done (actually never thought I would do any). I'm excited about the old 14 but some day there will be a second (third I guess< forgot the busa) BIG bike for me. I just wonder what that will be 7-8 years from now? This could be the last and biggest gas engine ever mad for a sportbike. Wouldn't that be interesting in a bittersweet sort of way?

You know Rook...there's still lots of room ahead for an even MORE powerful 14 from Kawasaki.This bike is the new gen alright...but I truly believe it's a test bed just like the previous models were.They seemed to have bundled all the good stuff into this new bike...and yet....customers still want something MORE.Naturally.And I can see Kawasaki not letting this opportunity go to waste.I'd say right now...they're working on at least a 1500....possibly turboed.It wouldn't surprise me one bit.And I don't think they intend to allow Suzuki or any other brand to beat em to the punch again(with the 99 Busa over the Kawasaki whatever it was then).

Kawi's clearly outdistanced the competition for now...but something tells me it's really not over yet.I think Suzuki has something coming that's going to really put the pressure again on the Kawi team.They've got BILLIONS to spend...why not?I think it's really more a game to them than anything else.The two giants that is.Been slugging at each other now for years.Gonna be interesting these next months and nearby years.I doubt Suzuki is out of the game...even though I think they've been called out with this new bike.They're being unusually quiet wouldn't you say?They HAVE released a new 1000Gixxer...but still..that isn't a 'hyperbike' like the new 14 or older Busa.They still love a good competition those Japanese guys.Hell...they've got whales that go to Vegas and drop hundreds of thousands on a roulette table or whatever....it's all great fun to them...spending big.

I really wish you could get a nice good test ride on a new 14R...and compare it to your modded 14.Now THAT would be good reading.I only had my 07,with minor mods to compare with.So yeah...I feel the new bird is THE KILLER ride.
