Thanks all. Been planning this for months.....can't believe I leave in less than 7 hours. No accommodation booked. No specific roads planned. Did a trip like this back in 2002......best thing I every did. So many memories.Hope this one is the same.

Hey all. Well it's day 2. Travelled about 1100km so far. Great trip BUT........the wind! I can handle rain, snow, sleet, etc......but the wind we have experiencing in VIC has been horrific. 30 knot winds with 35-40 knot gusts. Setting yourself into a corner at 140 only to be blown from your lane into oncoming traffic is NOT pleasant I can assure you. Having said that, getting away is great. Have met some awesome characters on the the road. Last guy gave me a tip on the horses that paid $10...... Gotta be happy with that! The riding is brilliant. The 14 is quickly becoming my most favourite bike ever......and I've had a lot! Can't believe how soooooth it's engine is. Got into a "groove" along one particular stretch today. Something I would have normally done in 4-5 gear......looked at the gear indicator and had done it in 2nd..............simply because this engine loves to rev. It just does not have a flat spot. Brilliant. Couple of photos.First one is about 5:30 in the morning out the front of my house...ready to

Few more random pics. Just finished our 4th day....covered 2100km so far. 14 is purring like a kitten! Love this bike. At Murray Bridge (for those that know where that is.) you know your in a country town when your pub accommodation has a bottle opener bolted to the wall of your toilet.:):)
