Interesting read: Superbikes with Soul
09/15/13 7:36 PM

As I mentioned on another thread, prior to buying my current bike I was away from motorcycles and the motorcycle industry for twenty years. In retrospect, I know I've missed out on riding/wrenching on a lot of great bikes...(working in a motorcycle repair shop, one of the perks of the job is that you take bikes for a test ride, lol)

Thanks to motorcycle magazines and articles like SUPERBIKES WITH SOUL, we can look back far enough and evoke feelings of nostalgia at the bikes mentioned in the story. If you enjoy history, you are going to like Superbikes with Soul, it is well worth it.

Another great read: ORIGINS OF AMERICAN SUPERBIKE RACING

I thought it was a great video, and I really enjoyed both articles! It would be great to have access to those bikes and take them for a spin!

Dang, the duc with a good suspension set up and modern tires. I would run her out of gas and push her in...

It is amazing that the Honda Rc-30 cost $15,000 in 1990. It looks like a lot of fun to ride.

I'd run the shite out of that oval piston jobie Honda made but none of them ever blew my skirt up because I like that power. Honda sport bikes have seemed more about balance than brute strength. I just love that oomph. I like the big torque feel of a duc or that V-4 Ape sounds sexy!!!. I am addicted to that chest sucking pull of the R. It's hard now to go back. I rode my friends bike the other day (won't say what), and it is a very well set up nice sport bike. But. It felt like a single scoop of vanilla ice cream. I have been spoiled! :)) ha! ya know what, I just went and watched that again. I would love to ride ANY of those bikes! What an awesome assemblage.
