G'day Everyone, I'm Bill and I'm in Mudgee, New South Wales.

Just bought a brand new '14 model 14R from the guys at Motohub in Castle Hill (Sydney)last week. I've been riding bikes a long long time, graduating from dirt bikes to road bikes back in the early 80's. I build up a lot of bikes and about 10 years ago I built up a '00 ZX12 with all the Muzzy goodies and managed to squeeze over 200mph out of it. Ended up selling it and went back to "Adventure" riding but the bug has always been there to get another "super" sports bike.
So last week, I said Stuff It and went and traded my KTM990 Adventure in on this baby.

I look at that pic and think, Man I gotta lose some weight! Anyway I took it out for it's first decent ride this morning out into the mountains and I have to say I'm surprised at how well it handles, I was expecting to get clobbered by the power...and I did, but the handling! How sweet is it for such a large bike!

Not planning to mod it anytime soon as my play money is going into building a turbocharged CBX, and I'm actually enjoying the quiet bike for a change.

Cheers

Bill

Getting a few Austrlians onto the forum.
Good to see.

Welcome OldDog.
Nice machine.
BTW, they tend to go okay on the straights as well...

It is a G'day! Grats on that sweet ride!

Yeah I totally agree with your comments on handling. Wait until you get some time on her...there's a whole lot of really clueless people out there in regards to this bikes abilities. Kaw hit it out of the city with the 14R, super fun, super fast, just super all around.

Thanks for the welcome guys, just back from putting another couple hundred km's on it. It's just one incredible machine, even in "old man" mode with the power set on L it delivers a nice punch. And the brakes! I'm glad it has this level of stopping power, if you're gonna have this kinda grunt you gotta be able to stop. Suspension is pretty plush, at some stage though I'll have to get serious and start setting the sag and stuff.
Anyway, I'm doing a lot of reading, this site has an amazing amount of info to read and digest, the "how to" series by Rook is keeping me stuck on the pc rather than on the bike at the moment!

Cheers

Bill
