I'm sorry but this forum was getting a bit borrrrrrring, it's time to spice it up a bit!
Actually, if it's cold out I'll wear longjohns under my leathers.

I knew Dogo and the Toon wouldn't let me down but the HubMeister is strangely MIA. With a thread title like that I didn't think he could resist....LOL!
I have seen some gals on sportbikes cruising the pits wearing nothing but a bikini ...I hate to even think what would happen if they dropped it!

BTW, I know this thread is a cheap shot but I'm really bored at work today. It seems like everyone in the world except me has gone on vacation.
OK, this is one of those threads that can go any direction so feel free to hijack it at any time. It looks like Josh Hayes is getting Colin Edwards Moto GP ride at Valencia Spain. I realize he's a two time AMA Superbike champ but this is going to be a big step up, sure hope he doesn't end up embarassing himself trying to run with teh big boyz! That would be cool if he finished ahead of Rossi..LOL!

I have no time, guys. It is down to the little time consuming crap. My nephew comes over, it's downtime here you be putting on ladies gear. I'm installing squid gear. I may not be here [forum'ing] as in I break for parts chasing. Off we go for something that stops the build. I'm back. Nothing stops the build, the silence starts all over again we are back to building. I want that silver 14 bullet out of here so the sooner I get his butt moving, the sooner the R shows up. This bike has been taking over a year of how it goes building one from the ground up.

Hayes is not an alien. Unless he makes first or second row. Besides, he's married. If they are the same size, she wears his relax fit jeans, then he can relax in her clothes. Fair is fair when these beach is pick out clothes for you anyway. Honey, you know that pink dress I bought that goes with your white tie with the pink drink spilled on it? You can wear my dress after the ball... Ommpaapaa, Ummpaapaa...
After the ball was over,
Katy took out her glass eye.
She put her false teeth in water;
Hung up her hair to dry.
She put her cork leg in the corner.
Hung up her arm on the wall.
And what was left of dear, Katy,
After the ball.... Once again!
Budd due da dee da...
Afff tear the ball was oooooo veer, (umpapa is the timing think)
Ka Tea took out her glass eye. (time this, you've timed the rest)
She put her false teef in warrrr dare,
hung up her air to drrrry. (slightly higher note sing)
She put her cork leg in the corn ear, (low note)
Hung up her arm on the wall... (high note again)
And what was left of dear Ka Tee,

Check out Speed channel Sunday morning at 7:00 central if you're up that early, they're broadcasting MotoGP live from Valencia. Spies qualified third fastest, hadn't heard anything on Josh Hayes, talk about being thrown to the wolves!

On another note, got the 190/55ZR17 on my 14 this afternoon.if you're sitting on the fence about this upgrade don't put it off, big difference I'n turn I'n. Makes the big girl handle like a literbike.

Spies had it won, Stoner passed him at the finish line by .001 second for the win. Spies is the man to watch next year, Hayes looked good I'n his debut in 7th. I suspect we'll see Hayes competing I'n WSB next year on a Yamaha.

The BT-016 55 is a nice change. I still don't know if all 55s feel as good as that one for general sport/street riding. JMHO. I think the BT-003 190/55 was a bit unpredictable on the street. Worked nice as I could expect for the track though.

For the type of riding I do, I'm not sure there is a better all around tire than the BT-016. I run 'em on all of my sportbikes and actually got half decent mileage on the last rear tire on my 14..2500 miles. I won't trade stick for mileage though, rubber is way cheaper than the more expensive bits if you drop it. Not sure if I 'd run a BT-003 on the street, you can't keep enough heat in them to make them sticky. The 016s are an entirely different compound, they warm up quick and hold heat well but the tradeoff is they will melt on the track under a literbike.

Not sure if I 'd run a BT-003 on the street, you can't keep enough heat in them to make them sticky. Some people will tell you the opposite: "track tires will wear out in no time on the street." From what I saw of track riding, even just taking a few easy laps to warm up, no severe lean angles, anyone with a little experience can roll rubber up on the edges of the tire. So what I am saying is that you are probably right. A track tire is probably harder, not softer, than a street tire. If it was ultra soft, it would liquify and get slippery. Even a beginner would need to change tires after 20 laps.

but then why don't we have the touring guys running racetrack tires??
It may be a lot more complicated than soft or hard, met or no melt. I suppose that is why we have umpteen million tire threads. In any case, I like the BT-016 for street. Be interesting to see how it behaves on the track compared with the 003. 55 height is good on the 016. I never went back to the stock 50 in five tire changes. Don't plan to, either.
The dif between track and street tires is not only the softness but the width of the edge compound. Coveringing a lot of the tire surface with edge compound would be unnecessary and wear poorly on the street. I guess?? Actually seems like that would counteract the tendency to square off the center tread?? You wouyld have a tire that did not last as long but it would stay rounder from edge to to edge?? Again, this is why we have so many tire threads.
I'm going to get a set of Power 1 on the 14 next. Short of a racing slick, that is about as track ready as you can get and still be street legal. ~$350 for one rear tire. It would have to be awfully good to spend that on a tire.
...but the Power Pures are the lightest. By how much, I would like to know.
I tried to NOT turn this into a tire thread but you how that goes. Kruz, you started it.

That's OK Rook, this is an anything goes thread. There are two other tires I'd like to try, Pirelli Super Corsa and the Michelin Power Pure but I'm just so happy with my BT-016s right now I don't want to swap.
