I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago, the answer I got was, with slip-ons probably not, with full exhaust, probably. Oh, by the way,

If you use slip-ons, no need for Power Commander. If your bike pops a lot, PC may help. Slip-ons are not for performance but more for weight reduction and sound improvement.

No, you don't. Even when I put a ti winder on mine the fuel curve still didn't look bad. If you have a pop on decel thats easy to fix. Now, I have a Guhl flash with his base map in and the fuel curve looked so good, I didn't even hook my PCV back up.

Actually it's proven you don't need a PCV even with a full exhaust. For one thing, unless you have it tuned the zero map IS just the stock map anyway. And if you want, you can load some garbage maps people made up. Probably better off just having your ECU flashed if you want a few horsepower. But it has nothing to do with protecting your engine from running lean, no possibility of that with stock map anyway.

2nd. The 14R does not need allot of work. You will not be in any danger no matter the system.

What's the average horsepower increase for a typical slip-on? I know this is a loaded question, but...

Yes it is. Two to four horse power if you tune for it. Then begs the question, would you have gotten that gain with tune alone ? More about weight savings along enjoying your new sound.

I did my exhaust for weight savings, sound, and cosmetic purposes. The added HP is just a nice side effect.
