Still in the 50s-60s here in the daytime. Usually don't get snow for another month yet. I could quite happily go all winter and never see a flake, wouldn't bother me a bit.
I lived for a couple of years in northern Illinois (due north of Chicago, bout 10 miles from the Wisconsin border), and have seen it spitting snow and ice there in late September. Hated it, was VERY glad to get back to Missouri.

This stuff won't stick around but a day or two... this flurry was just mother nature's final warning to get sh*t winterized. It's stopped now. We accumulated 2-3".
This sucks... brand new 14 in the garage... snow on the ground.

dammit, do I change oil and ride or change and park?
What sux even more is that you canget a snowmobile and not have enough snow but too cold, wet and sloppy to ride. What's us poor northern boys to do?

Up until a week ago it was beautiful here in Calgary.... I think it was just over a week ago we got a huge winter storm came in over night and went from being +10C to -10C with like a foot of snow in a matter of hours.... This storm started with rain which turned to ice and then covered in snow!!! Slipnslide!! Riding season is officially done in Southern AB!!! Today was a high of -23C with a windchill bringing the temp to -33C!! F**k me its cold!! I need to move closer to the equator!!! Southern Cali would be nice!! I just hope we get another +temp day so I can wash and wax the girl b4 she gets covered for the winter!!!

Its coming this way. I just know it. Was about 50 F today. I got caught in the rain on the busa. Decided I would ride that thing a few times before she goes to sleep.
I think I'm going to push it to late December with the 14. It is very slippery here. Ithink the dry leaf dust and clod pavement make a lot more difference than you might guess by looking at the roads. I have felt the tires lose traction several times. Even the new stickies on the 14. The busa's rear tire was drifting all through a corner yesterday and it occurred to me that I really better not get too comfortable with this-- not at this time of year when we will soo have frost on the ground.

Sounds like there are a few of us Albertans on here!! I have only seen a few 14's on the roads here in Calgary and surounding areas... yup November riding for us is usually nil!! Except the one year where it was brown unitl after xmas and I think it was like 14C xmas day... I remember riding that day!!
We may have to meet up for a ride!!

Hey Fuzz I've put a few feelers to meet anybody and the only person I've met so far is Dino out at Bragg Creek 2 yrs ago. So if you'd like to meet up for lunch or coffee that would be great and get everyone to bring a picture of their bike.( we could tape them to the window and pretend they're in the parking lot LOL!) Oh yeah for everyone else , it was -41C with the wind chill.
