Hello ZX14 family. New here been browsing around while the 2012 is of interest to me. Former Busa owner. That bike was stolen and I was set on getting another one this summer until I finally saw a 2012 zx14r in person at the Timonium Bike show this past weekend in MD. Since its release I've been a big admirer. I love both bikes! Seeing the bike in person and sitting on it has made me decide to go for the zx14r. Fit and finish, comfort and features have won me over. Already making a list of mods. That CT single looks nice on it :)

Hello KFORCE1 and from .

Hello ZX14 family. New here been browsing around while the 2012 is of interest to me. Former Busa owner.

Having the opportunity to own the two most amazing motorcycles on the planet is something to be proud of. I have ridden my friends 99 Busa and because of that I near bought a Custom 05 Blue/Silver last summer. Nothing wrong with the Buse but I'm glad I waited for my dream bike to find me.

That bike was stolen and I was set on getting another one this summer until I finally saw a 2012 zx14r

Sorry to hear about your loss, for this reason I am looking at getting a high end alarm system installed on my 10 S.E. I'm thinking about the Scorpio Rlink. It has GPS tracking capabilities. The only thing that will save some prick that touches my ride will be the cops getting to hime first!

Good luck on your new purchase

Thanks everyone :) Having fun learning about the zx14 here. If things are still good at suzuki then I'm sure they have something cooking in R&D they have prepared for release in the future while they milk and max out the success of what works. I mean they can't just fall asleep and not plan ahead. Times are moving fast and the technology race favors those who are acting and evolving fast like Kawasaki on all their sport models.

I look forward to the day I will be back on the saddle on a zx14r. Soon come:)

Thanks again.

@scott
I've been thinking seriously about alarms and layered security. Lojack sounds good but it is sooo expensive. I like the early warning feature but with that the system runs $995 from what I've researched. And that's without installation fee. I've been looking keenly at the Scorpio Sr1100se alarm system that comes with siren, shock and proximity sensor plus gps tracking and alarm trigger alerts to smartphone. That system is $445 at biohazard and I can do the install myself. The only worry with that is the thieves getting to the system quick and disabling it and throwing out the van or truck. Lojack may be harder to find and combining both systems would make a formidable security package. I really want a proximity sensing alarm to stop people from sitting on the bike too but it sounds like the Scorpio alarm combined with lojack would hit me hard at the bank.

Cheers.
K

either way you go would be cool the nice thing a bouts the lo jack is its not easily found and from my research on it when they install it they don't even tell you where its at on/in the bike, I goess if i was in a bad area for theft id prob do both. well keep us posted
