Come ride with me.

Guys, if you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up way too much space! LOL
Anyway, took a little putt up Monitor Pass this morning with my helmet mounted GoPro. Who says these big heavy beasts can't corner, ha!
Please note:
Roads seem much straighter than they actually are from a GoPro cameras perspective. You can get a better idea of how tight the curves actually are on Monitor by looking at the lean angle of the mirrors. More videos to come, as I get them loaded.

Yeah Grn14, those snakes will be murder especially when the summer heat softens them up.
My busa riding buddy was waiting for me to fly-by in this one. I'll post his version up when he gets it over to youtube. Hehe.........the guy I pass probably thinks I'm a real A'hole.............Well, he'd be mostly correct. LOL

Nice ride; where is the Monitor Pass? Didn't see any posted speed limits on the video, are there any?

As to the GoPro; I was curious which back plate you had on the case? I don't get that much wind noise on mine with the closed back plate (without the sound ports cut in it). My mounting point is front and center on the fairing or center rear on the tail piece. They recommend the closed plate above about 80 mph, I believe; I haven't tested the set up above 150, but adhesive mount and camera/audio fn is good to my limit! Heh,heh. Maybe your helmet mount is in more turbulent air stream and that would explain the added sound?

Finally, I am guessing form the audio that you are running stock pipes? Forgot how whisper quiet they are already, I guess. Only have the slips for a couple months now but last used the stockers in December.

Cheers!

Second vid, nice little top speed run @ 5:09...by the the way those yellow lines are passing I'd say at least 170. (I mean 170 lbs, of course.) Tried to embed for you but not working for me.

That looks like a beautiful place to ride CC. I am dyeing here.. I have to get on that bike soon.

Hi PaulAB-
As to the Gopro, mine is three years old and compared to today's higher end HD versions, it's a bottom of the line El Cheapo. I really don't need to upgrade, mainly because I'm not into editing raw footage and adding music, etc.. I'm old school, raw footage with wind and what little engine sound (stock exhaust) can be heard is the way I like it.

Monitor Pass, Hwy 89 is an 18 mile stretch of pure delight for motorcycles of all makes. It actually is picked number one in some motorcycle touring guides as the place to go. It's located approx. 5 miles from the friendly little vacationing town of Markleeville, California. And fortunately for me and my riding buddies, it's only 35 miles south of where I live here in Carson City, NV. The pic is of Markleeville, where on any given Sat or Sun during the riding season, the street is usually lined with motorcycles. You go for it up and over and then back again (36 miles round trip) and you're usually ready for lunch and beverage and BSing with other like minded enthusiasts at any number of inside or outside restaurants that line the street.
