Intro for myself here in Eastern Washington
09/22/25 10:12 AM

Good morning everyone... my name is Eric and I have been riding and racing since Christ was a mess cook. I am here in Eastern Washington in the tri cities. It has been a long time since I had a zed. My last one was in the 90s with a ZX6. Since that time I have been on and off many big bikes with my main pair being a Gen 1 and 2 busa.

I was preparing to preorder/purchase the special edition Gen 3, but had yet to actually sit on that generation. Having a wife that is head over heels in love with all our bikes and been my crew chief for our race team... she has stayed on top of all the new bikes. After seeing how bad the new busa's are...she suggested we change things up with a new zed!

Here is where the fun came in... I realized in all the years I had never sat on a 14, even though many of my friends had and ride them! So we called up our local dealer and they just happened to have one last anniversary edition sitting on the floor. We drove over yesterday, yes they are open on Sunday's and that was were the magic happened.

I had no idea what I had been missing all.these years for comfort. It took only about 15 minutes of inspection and discussion and we bought it.

I picks her up tomorrow. I will share more on the bike and other stuff as time.goes by here, but I simply wanted to introduce myself and my new 14 Mishka.

Welcome and congrats on the new 14! All depends on your expectations regarding a bike. I, too, have been a Busa rider to decades now. The Gen3 did miss expectations, but overall not a bad bike. I added a ZX to see what the other side was like and enjoy it when I get out and ride. Everyone here would like to enjoy your new journey with you, so please share pics and plans with us.

and congrats. I owned a Gen1 ZX-14 and bought hte Gen2 Hayabusa shortly after. There both great bikes but when it came to the latest and the greatest, I agree, the Hayabusa fell a bit short of hopes and expectations with the Gen3. I had waited long enough. I got the Gen2 14R. There's me and at least one other on here who grabbed the 40th Anniversary edition. You're the latest!
