Hey guys
What's are my options to get these scratches out? Can they be buffed out? Do the pieces have to be replaced? If so any idea on the cost? These are both on the right side.
Thanks

I detail cars and bikes, you cant get them all the way out but you can lighten them, you need to get some heavy heavy cut and use that first preferably with a rotary buffer or a drill with a buffing pad at slow to medium speed, at that go over that with a fine cut same process as the heavy cut, them polish with a good automotive polish and then a good wax, the only problem then is to get the rest of the bike to shine as good as the spots you just did.

Wow, $920 to replace - not cheap. This is actually a bike advertised on Ebay that I'm considering so I wanted to get my ducks lined up before making an offer.
The buffing idea sounds like a cheaper way to go, most of it ought to come out ok but it's not going to be perfect. The lower panel is less noticable anyway.
Thanks guys!

Having these costs in mind, make you offer accordingly. When you see a scuffed bike for sale, that leaves the door wide open for negotiation. Enjoy, make em an offer "he can't refuse" IE drop the price by 920 as that is the cost of repairs...

Afer you buff it out as much as you can, you might be able to fill them in a bit with one of those wax pens. I've seen them at autoparts stores. That color might be hard to match and the wax will wear off but it might help a bit. Use them with some color-match wax. I've had good luck with this on silver and black cars. Haven't had to do it on my 14 yet thank god. Turtle-wax has black color-match cream wax that comes with a pen. They are nothing more than a big crayon but they can cover deep scratches pretty good. Like I said you will have to repeat the application every so often.

I had to replace left mid, and lower panels and seat cowl (including heatsheilds)...$1700 for all factory replacements. Buffed out minor (similar) scratches from upper with... Believe it or not "Scratch Dr." Repair kit from "Crappy Tire"... Actually did a GOOD job, I also ordered colour match paint (Titanium / Silver) when I bought
The bike, i Used it on deeper scratches... Hard pressed to see any scratches but "I" still know their there... I'm lucky that's all.
Just my 2cents... Lol
