Front Fork Bushings.
10/29/24 8:58 AM

2008 ZX14 90,000kms.
I had noticeable movement between the fork slider and the outer tube so I have disassembled the forks and I have removed the two inner bushings from the outer (gold coloured) portion of the forks. The problem I am having now is that I cannot find the bushings. They are not listed or shown in the ZX14 manual and I cannot find them on any of the parts sites. Has anybody replaced these bushings before? If so, where did you buy your replacements and is there a specific tool available to set the new bushings or do I have to make one?
I would be grateful for any info you guys have on this. Thanks.

I've just been down to the local stealership and they could not find any bushings from Kawasaki. The best they could offer was to contact Kawasaki Canada on my behalf to see if they are available. They also said that they would try and source some after market bushings for me.
Any help on sourcing these would be appreciated. Thanks.

Can you find the part on this page?

Hi Hub. How's it going?
Thanks for the link.
ref# 44008/A Pipe Fork Outer Gold. The two bushings are inside that and they are not shown.
One of the bushings is situated in the bottom of the tube, directly on top of washer ref# 92200A.
and the other bushing is situated about 3/4 of the way up the tube immediately before the tube narrows.
They are the bushings that guide ref# 44013A Pipe-Fork inner.

Ktech here in the UK sell the bush kits.

GBS-013 and GBS-015 are the part numbers for the two types of bushes you need.

The lower bush is easy to remove, the upper is quite difficult. If you have access to a lathe for making a shouldered drift, this will help greatly.

Kawasaki only sell the complete assembly, not the bushes individually.
The Ktech ones are a perfect fit.

Red, I'll assume the bushings are in the gold tube. So you'd probably be out $417 and change to get the bushings. But then again, rub both hands together, which one stayed cool, meaning, there is equal wear-down on 4403A, meaning, a sloppy fork to tube, i.e., seal leak.

So the only way to get those inner bushings is to order the 44008/A.

Hi Hub, Hi Enzo.

Thank you both for your replies and your help.
Hub, as always, you are right on the money with your analogy. As per Kawasaki's rules, you can't buy the bushings you have to buy the upper tube complete with bushings. However - As I found out yesterday from my local stealership and confirmed by Enzo, the bushings are available from a company called Ktech who are located in Birmingham, England.
I'm in Vancouver, Canada and I found a suspension shop in Vancouver called Suspension Werx, that stocks these bushings and they have lot's available so all I have to do is get my butt across town and pick up two pair. Total cost including tax is $67cdn and change. Exactly as Enzo states, the bottom bush comes out easy, the top one, not so easy. A shouldered drift will be required to set the top bushing. Depending on how much the shop wants to charge me, I may get them to set the top bushings, if not, I'll just make a shouldered drift and set them myself.
Thanks again for your help guys.
Cheers RB.
