PC Question
01/29/10 1:57 AM

Was talking to my Garage guy, he mailed me something - And for me its hard to understand lol, and i'd like ur opinions.

So i mailed him about a PC, and this way his answer

The problem is with the PC, u lock ur Injection instead of the std ecu that changes the Injection. I wouldn't bother with a PC for now (I think rapid Bike iseen is a better option) - And i would get rid of the limitations with a G=Packoid.

.... So, any comments on this? Thanks

It almost sounds like Hubspeak. I think that might be Dutch/Euro technology your mechanic is talking about (although I believe Hub is a Dutchman also so he might actually know what all that means). I haven't heard of any of that stuff (Rapid Bike , G-packoid). Find out what other Euro riders use if it's not a PC. Could it have anything to do with sea level? Holland has quite a range of elevation, right?

I think what he is saying is true about pc's as you are only using one map at a given time. With some pc's you can change the map on the fly , but by placing the pc in line you give up things like the bike ability to compensate for changes in altitude on a wider scale then say with the pc. there are guys working on flashing the stock comp but that is really for race app right now like higher rpm by like 900 anda few more things cant remember now but it will come to me I think i read it on bike land see the stock mapping system has more than one map for those kind of things I think this is what Hub has be saying for so long well in his way of course lol Pc's are great for what they are designed for ...that race that map that day that local that dyno remember it is a buisness so the more maps you need the more dynoing you'll need aswell Is dynoing a word lol

Matsuke, you could try to PM Slowninja about how necessary a PC is. He had his bike modded up the wahzoo and I'm pretty sure he said he wasn't using a PC. He did have some trouble before winter, however. I don't know if that was from running mods on the stock map or what.

I've always ridden pretty much at the same elevation -- sea level so there probably has been little need for the bikes self adjusting capabilities. I do ride in ambient temperatures from 90 F - 30 F and never had a problem with my PC map.
