Pit lane limiter
07/01/18 9:01 PM

Hi Guys,
Just wondering, I had a Woolly tune on my bike and the guy mentioned something about a pit lane speed restrictor to 40kph, that would be good for school zones, but in the end he said the woolwich tune doesnt do it for the 2013 zx14r.

Has any body got a pit lane limiter on there bikes please?

Oh and i got a quick shift and the wanker set the launch control to 6K rpm, I tried it and i had boobs and legs flying every where. Getting it put to 3K rpm, what do you think ?

Many thanks, the red head in black
Maddy :-)

Hi, Maddy.

I have a Pit lane limiter in my DJ Ignition module and I'm just getting to wiring up a switch for it now. Yes, I suppose you would be safe fro speeding with that. That's what it's for so you don't get disqualified for going too fast off the course in racing. Whatever kph you have it programmed to, it will cut ignition when you reach that speed. It's the same effect as hitting the rev limiter. I would not want to have it unless I could switch it on and off though.

I got that in my Ignition Module too and hooking up a switch for it like the pit speed limiter.

Yeah, if you have no experience launching, 3000 rpm is probably a good place to start. If you're not racing, doubtful you will use it. Actually, a 3k rpm start on the street is pretty damn quick. Again, I would not want to have it unless I had control over setting the launch rpm and the ability to turn it off. If you are stuck with a 3000 rpm launch limit, you will have ignition cut every time you are in the clutch at or below 3000 rpm. Maybe they can make the ignition cut only in first gear with a flash. DJ, it's any gear. What if you downshift above 3000 rpm??? The ignition will cut if the clutch is pulled at all. Sounds kind of cool maybe but if you do any clutch modulating while engine braking, it might be weird. If you get into launching, you will want to do it at 6000 rpm or higher when you get good at it. I still wouldn't want it unless I could shut it off.

Maddy, this is the first I've ever heard of these features being flashed on a ZX-14.

The Hayabusa has a boatload of electronic racing features available in the ECU that can be accessed via flash. Your tuner might be assuming the 14 has them as well but I haven't heard a peep about these for the 14 from any flasher in the US.

I was just thinking Maddy, you might not want to flash your launch rpm as low as 3000 rpm even if you're not racing. If you really need to get the hell out of the way on the street, you might need to launch at a higher rpm than that. If it's flashed, it's set until you get them to flash it higher.

Hey guys , its been a while, Ricky Gadson says 3 grand.
After many many launch tests anything over 3 grand causes problems, my best rpm was 2800 maybe because im small in stature.
Hey Piken , thats the shifter thingy i got, it works great.
I also have a 2 step clutch something , I dont know what it is or have i bothered to learn, I just ride it.

Hey Rook, whats a DJ Ignition module ? I would REEEEALLY like a pit lane limiter.

Thanks Maddy
