It is loud, but I bet its ok or tolerable with earplugs in. Especially just loafing along. WOT, and its a screamer; for sure.
I have the ct duals and I rode my friends '06 zx10r with full ah2 on Monday. While either of those are definitely louder than stock, both are ok with plugs in. I didn't wind his up much, so cant speak directly about how it is when being ridden in anger; but I have been behind him and it is noisy.
So, yeah. Definitely wear plugs. We should, anyway; just wind noise inside a helmet can cause long term hearing issues.

II have the same setup on my 2013 14 and love em. Not ear piercing loud and once you're cruising around the noise is directed away from you and all you hear is wind. It's very loud for anyone next to you though... I made a "sound test" video a while back to give you a better idea on and off what it sounds like. After a year the packing is still fine, maybe a little sharper but that's normal. I regularly ride long distances and never have a problem with the noise. You'll love the dyno sheet too. Brocks stock map runs a little rich for me in Florida too.2013 ZX-14r Alien Head 2 Drive By Sound Tests: http://youtu.be/79wyTP0QUqM

Very nice!! Love that pipe. Great with black powder coat!!! Yes, wear earplugs. trust me, that won't start to be drowned out by wind noise until you are a bit north of 170 mph.

Matt, I love mine. That deep tone was deciding factor for me.

I thought the same thing Mav, I only use the clutch on the upshift if I'm riding slow, stop and go type of thing.

Always use clutch except when I use my quick shifter. Maybe I should try without. I have a tendency to hit the rev limiter pulling in the clutch when I shift at high rpm. Not with the the quickshifter of course but before I had that, I would hear it bounce a couple beats between shifts.

Be sure to post Pic with Stupid Fast emblem. You'll love ceramic coating, cool to touch, no burn issues!
