What's a pulser and how do I know if mine is broken?
If the pulser is the timing rotor, OEM can be found at www.collegebikeshop.com
#21007-0066 $26.15 USD.
But you know, there is a section on the rotor that is not supposed to have any teeth.

hell yeah. You know, I think of it like this: yes, you can consider doing your own wrenching a money saving tool but it is also a good money spending justification. You save on shop bills you spend on mods. Sorta like getting free mods. well NOT really but you sorta see where I'm coming from. No exageration that the shop bills would have equalled what I spent on mods so far. ---Easy.

Dejavu sucks. Had a case yesterday. Bought a KLR a few weeks ago. Finally caught up with the person I bought it from and picked up some parts he had. A stock sized front sprocket. Think I'll put it on, gearing is a bit high for offroad work.
So I pull off the cover, and look at the nut holding sprocket.@#$% looks like the same SOB that kicked my butt on the 14.
I am now hunting for a 6 point 27mm socket. I have never been so afraid of changing sprockets before. Fairly sure sure this was once a painless thing back in the day.
Am saving money though, right?

think people have WAYYYY underetimated the time they spend wrenching. I dpon't think I ever did anything in 20 minutes. I can now take a wheel off or adjust a chain in 20 minutes but that is after doing it 25 X.
I would say yes you def save $$ and yes it is worth it if you get satisfaction out of doing your own work. I also think it gives me more confidence in riding because I understand a lot more about how the bike responds to rider input and other operating conditions.
