Too many miles?
09/18/11 8:14 AM

I was riding with some friends yesterday and noticed that I have put a little over 5k miles on my bike the past 2 months. I bought it to ride and I love to ride. I always here guys talking about how they have low miles on their bikes and I just put half 5k on mine in 2 months. Is that too much riding?

Somebody smack him before I do.

There is never anything such as "too much riding!" The rest of us are jealous! We all should be so lucky. Now go buy me some carbon fiber, stand in the corner, and don't come back until you are prepared to be nice to the other kids.

LOL!!

AWESOME! yeah, low miles! I guess if you are thinking about selling. I guess you can consider yourself lucky for staying out of the low miles club. That baby isn't worth a hill of beans now so do what you want KEEP ON ENJOYING HER!! The more use you get out of it the more it starts looking like an investment rather than just an expense.

Gonna catch ya Bro....comin up fast.

BigBlack is gonna pass you both up!

Just another 20K miles and she will start to really run sweet, BB. Have heard of one owner over at BL who routinely does +100 speeds on a 90something thousand miles bike.

Hell I did 3k in the last 2 months &. I thought that was a lot of miles, buts thats really great that u can get 5k on the bike. I would have gotten a few more but pulled a muscle on my wrist preventing the bike from goin down so I have wait 3 weeks till I got back on.

But KEEP RIDIN MAN, stay safe & enjoy!

My 14 is my only mode of transportation I ride everyday rain or shine all year round so don’t worry about miles the only thing you should worry about is fresh oil clean filter and lube on the chain other than that just keeping it on 2!

It is pretty hard to compare a C14 with a ZX14. They have totally different purposes in life. At least, the way they are when they come off the assembly line.

Ninja has a 2011 C14, which was another example of my premise Kawasaki would spend engineering money on only two bikes, the C14 and the ZX10R. It is a subtle but quite notable improvement over the 2010. I'll let him do the comparison.

My boss at work has a C-14...can't remember the year...it's a late model anyway..but not the very latest.I rode it once.Very smooth as you'd expect....but I wasn't on it long enough to actually get a feel for it.Seemed like a sweet ride.IDK.The seat angle had me feeling like I was being 'pushed' forward(like into the tank).I didn't like that much. But that's a minor thing and easily corrected. It would very easily burn rubber...I know that...he chirped the rear on takeoff a few times(not meaning to!)Surprised both of us!I've NEVER chirped my 14.I've spun the rear a couple of times taking off hard on cement. But not on asphalt.

4,500 on mine in the last 2 months, Why would anyone brag about low miles?
I just turned 100,000 on my 99 suburban bought new in 2000. If I'm not taking the kids somewhere I'm riding.

I think the 14 can burn rubber on take off... And it's pretty decent at logging miles. I'm dissappointed not putting on enough miles. Bikes depreciated pretty hard so not as good deal if ride less. That's the way I see it!

Yes,it can.Your miles are your miles...no big deal really."Enough miles" is only relating to you and what you think...but I know what you mean. Some people have more time on their hands to go ride...I'm one of em.I can usually get out 8 times a month....for at least a several hundred mile ride each time. But I can only ride like 1/3rd of the year.UNLESS...I go before work...which I don't.Sometimes after...yes...in the dead of night.
