Say more a staggered circle of stick on lead balance weights. Paint those same as rim. When the tire is [touring] mounted, use silver weights so you know not to peel off the base weights?

I'd have the desired lead weights to be balanced without the tire on, of course. Add another round of weights 'gooped' on top of a weight for a heavier, 'stay, boy, stay' on the ground... Now it feels dangerous to me. Maybe not?

Then it just hit me. What honda had this bolted on front steel block tied to the neck of the frame? I wanna say a GL.

But here at home grown meguybeer, I open the fridge, grab a chaleda, a tube of goop glue... any fuk-N place I want, no drilling, no brackets, no hardware, just glue the cement truck on the front neck... stay, boy, stay an the front tire is not leaving the ground.

Garage sale... say, any fishing equipment? Lead me show you what we have. 30lbs work or less?

I picked up some lead fishing weights for the axle Have yet to begin torch work..but soon. I have no idea of what or how the affect will be of X pounds . but gonna find out :)
Nuther thing.. everyone lowers front and back as low as they can get the bike..my lil mind keeps wanting to raise the rear. Would that not, in some way, make the bike feel more weight at the front?

Heaviest front wheel?

I don't think it'll 'make the front wheel heavier'.They weight what they weigh.Angle won't change that. You will however have a weight transfer inclined towards the front which will be noticeable when turning. And stopping.
Maybe a forged steel front wheel.Your weight tranfer thing will go towards the rear on launching as you know.
Are you trying to diminish the front coming up at launch and such?Extend the swingarm.I mean, you're the dragger. That's what most of em do with 'wheelie control' don't they?
I don't think 'fishing weights' are gonna make much difference with your 14r.Isn't it all controlled by the pilot and his finesse with the throttle and clutch?

Maybe contact Brock Davidson and just ask about it.They will advise ya in their online chat on site.

See lots of draggers with the 14 having carbon fiber wheels.Doesn't seem like the want 'heavier stuff' on their bikes.
IDK.I'm only guessing about this stuff.

The weight vector changes as a function of the cosine of the angle. If you raise the ass 5 deg, which seems like a lot, the weight vector is still .996. So a very small change by raising the ass 5 deg.

Adding weight to the wheel, rotating mass, will have a big affect on accelerating the wheel. Probably not good for your time. Adding weight to the front end would be the least impact to acceleration, but you still have to accelerate it.

Try to find an 8lb shotput ball and somehow bag it and strap it to your front fork. Or borrow some gold bars from Grn14 for max mass

I like the gold bars idea :)

Really gentlemen, I am just looking at roads that have not been traveled. The launch and first 60 or so feet can make or break a run. I am just looking at possible changes that will affect the launch..It is winter time .. First race is still a week away..( New Years day). It is amazing how sometimes ideas spring from out of teh blue..
The way the bike is set up now I have a best et of 9.373 under great weather/track conditions . Mathematically I shud be able to get an 8.89 by increasing my ability to launch and under perfect weather/track conditions without doing anything to the bike. We have AFR configured and monitored for teh entire run. I am getting close on correct rear tire temps for each run.
Limitations include keeping stock wheelbase..no extensions or wheely bars.. (we know those work .)

I have a plus 20 pounds I could add to the bike and still be in my personal weight range so adding a few pounds is acceptable.

I am not following the crowd but trying to pass it :)

I am trying to add weight as far forward and low as possible .

The problem is simply how to keep front end down without electrically killing engine or adding extentions or bars.

Heavier front wheel is not the same as heavier rear wheel, that is why you see a lot of guys only change to liteweight rear wheel ( cost vs effect )

Drag racing ? Just a quarter mile in a straight line ...so simple...:) you know how that goes LOL

Thanks for playing along..

For sure I would not add anything to the steering. That shot put sounds like a good weight, but the placement is where? You could gut a small light or both sides, glue a ball or two each up at the nose. Once that glue sets up, it won't move till you peel the glue off it... which leaves no mark the the surfaces.

I've seen people run a rod through front axle and attach dumbbell/weights on the ends of the rod.

Fill front axle with lead.

Strap some lead to the front of exhaust headers.

You might try putting wheel weights on the underside of your front fender also..

Have you looked at a honda 16" wheel and tire setup? That should allow you to get as low as possible in front, might also need a raised oil pan. That combo should make the front feel heavier.. There are a few adapter kits out there for our brakes and axles..

That is teh kind of stuff that will work on my other 14 . I have another in the garage waiting for me to hit my goal with this one , at which time , IF I keep racing, we will build a complete stretched , built 14....if I keep racing ... I am missing the road time ....

Chrly - Could you secure a 5 lb or 10 lb soft coated dumbbell inside the fairing, half on each side, and as far forward as possible? Like these:

Update.. I know better than to make more than one change without testing the results and yet I did just that I started messing with stuff and made so many changes that teh best I could get was a one time 9.58. All the other runs that day were high nines.. I let my ego get in the way of my common sense ..so.. Starting all over again with the set up I was running three weeks ago, and will attempt to get the "feeling" back with the clutch especially ..( I had even changes control levers)

I was doing ok, advancing slowly towards my goal and I could kick myself for thinking I could get there with just some changes ..........................

So now Las Vegas is running this weekend so I am going to try to make the race and the test and tune Friday nite before .. I am guessing my best runs will not break 9.7 ( Las Vegas does not have the air that we have. )
Thanks for all the input on the weight question, but really, I believe the problem can be overcome with patience at the clutch...and proper suspention set up ..

One thing at a time :)
