Hi. As a soon to be proud owner(I take delivery this Friday) of a 2013 ZX 14R. Are there any pitfalls and or best practices I should be on the lookout for when taking delivery of my new motorcycle? If there are any suggestions or things you wish you wouldve done or said when taking delivery and care to share I would be most gratful. Thx, Rustydog

Depends on how thorough you want to be, and if you already own it. If you're yet to buy, you have a little more leverage.

You can inspect bodywork, fit and finish, and you should be pretty thorough. Could be scratched or something and you may not notice until a month afterwards. Check fluids and see if they look ok or need changed. I bought a '13 new in June and the hydralic fluids were all in tough shape, have changed them all now.

Take it outside in the sunlight and look it over with a magnifying glass. They dropped my busa and did some hasty touchups that went unnoticed until much later. You're probably ok if the bike came out of a crate at the dealership.
