Got tired of the constant maintanence and costs of having a drag bike. Added to the fact I could no longer ride the bike on the street (comfortably).

So i've traded the big motor off for a stock one. Sold the carbon fiber wheels, looking for some oems. Selling the long swingarm and nitrous kit and putting a stock arm back on it. Selling the sidewinder and buying a streetmeg.

Going to install some bar risers, a comfy seat (havent decided which one yet) and a cruise control/gps and go for some rides this year. I'm actually looking forward to this more then I looked forward to trying for a 7 second pass.

Just thought i'd let everyone know. It was fun, but not as fun as riding.

Well...you had a good run Slow.You've done what a lot of us only"dream" of...so congrats on yer drag career!Glad ya made it out alive!7 seconds...sheesh.Not me...not without a harness.

You know you can own more than 1 bike, right? ;)

I fully understand tho. I got friends and dudes at the track always telling me what I should do to the 14.. I want to be able to ride it and race it too, ya know? There is a happy middle I think.

Your gonna have just as much fun at the track trying to be fast on the SWB. Plus, now it will be fun riding to the track too!

Wow, I'm in shock. I've been following your times for a few years now. Love watching the #'s go down. .29 away from 7. Awesome Run.

Must ask. Why not just buy a left over stocker ? One season with no racing & you may get bored. Lots of doe to get a bike back to where you had yours. Just a thought.

The great thing about the ZX14 is it is going from being a competent drag bike to being a road bike now.

Anyway, I'm happy you are going to do some plain old riding with us slow folks.

I don't have $6k laying around to buy another bike, and I refuse to buy anything else on credit. One of the other objectives by doing this is to payoff some small debt (paypal credit card, snap on dealer account, small personal loan).

So not only am i going to get to enjoy the bike, but by selling the drag items i'm also going to (basically) ADD to my income by reducing the money going out. It's going to be like saving $300 a month.

I will, at some point build another drag bike. But for now, i'm going to enjoy the zx14 for what it is.

And don't worry, i'll still be going to the track. It's going to be stock wheelbase, but i'm going to try to get into the 8s

Welcome back to the normal world. I am certainly enjoying the hell out of my almost stock ZX 14.

New bike (half new) and new adventures. Congrats.
