Footpeg offset kits?
02/10/19 8:00 PM

The rider footpegs are right where I want the back of my legs to be when straddling the bike at a light to hold it up.

I don't want rearsets, as I don't want to introduce a gearshift linkage on the left, nor have to move the brake light activation and the rear brake cylinder on the right side. Plus, I don't want any change that could cause interference with the Graves slip-on exhaust I will be getting.

Does anyone make a set of simple footpeg offsets that I could use to simply move the pegs rearward an inch or more?

I saw them years ago made by a member of the old forum. They were just a bent plate with boltholes. I haven't seen anything mass produced that was similar. I believe you would need to make your own. I have rear sets adjusted all the way back and up and the pegs are still in the way a bit when I am stopped.

Turns out that there ARE now vendors who make pretty nice kits.

There is a US version that costs over $100US, and a Hong Kong one sells for 40% to 60% of the U.S. one, depending on whether you want a set of brackets that move the pegs either 20 or 30 mm, or 40 or 50mm, or both.

BOTH versions allow you to rotate the offset brackets to multiple different positions "around the clock", and both "pin" the brackets at your selected position for no slippage. Both have same-as-OEM mounts that allow the pegs to fold like OEM.

See:

This will enable me to move the pegs back a bit (up to 50mm = 2 inches!), so they won't be "in the way".

Note that this does move the pega posiiton relative to the gearshift pedal and rear brake pedal, so if you have short feet, you might not be able to use the full 50mm. I wear size 10.5, and wear Sidi BOOTS which are reasonably long to make shifting easy and positive, so I think I can use much of the range without a problem.

Those are way nicer than the things I saw. I don't think 50 mm will cause a problem with the shift pedal. If it does, you can probably get aftermarket shift pedals that are a little longer.

I've had my Buell Lightning foot pegs on for 7 years and never had a problem getting my feet on the ground. I dropped the shifter lever down one notch, plus, lowered the rear brake lever to the maximum. I wear size 10.5 boot.

Pegs dropped 1" and 1/2" back. I need all the room I can get for my Knees.
